Congratulations and welcome back to Scott Kanehl, Dunedin High School's new high school head baseball coach. Kanehl, a 1991 graduation of DHS is headed back to lead Falcon baseball.

A meet and greet event to introduce Coach Kanehl to players, boosters and fans will be held Wednesday, June 18th from 4-5 p.m. at the high school media center. Interested parties should check in at the main office prior to 4 p.m.

Most recently, Coach Kanehl led teams at Indian Rocks Christian School for three seasons, including their first regional appearance since 2017. Prior to IRC, he was an assistant coach at Calvary Christian High School.

Kanehl played baseball at Hillsborough Community College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and USF. Growing up in Dunedin, Kanehl played all four years of high school with the Falcons and played Little League from tee-ball to Big League 16-18 year olds, where the 1991 team completed in the Big League World Series.

Gary Kifer - Coach of the Year!

The Dunedin Highlanders extend congratulations to Gary Kifer for being awarded the Pinellas County Athletic Conference 2025 Flag Football Coach of the Year.

Coach Kifer is the Head Coach for Dunedin High School Women's Flag Football. His team had a record of 15 wins and only 5 losses, reaching the regional semi-finals.

He is also The Dunedin Highlanders Community Liason.

The Region 3 Champion Dunedin Falcon Softball team will continue its push for a 3A state title this Wednesday at Boombah-Soldier's Creek Park in Longwood. The Falcons will take on the Stallions of Somerset Academy (Miami) with first pitch set for 10 AM.

Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance through GoFan.co. Tickets are $14 and include the price for parking at the facility. Tickets sold at the gate will be $17.

With a win, the Falcons will advance to the 3A state championship game on Thursday, May 22, at 6:30.

This afternoon at 4 PM you can catch a glimpse of the 2025 Falcon Football team under new head coach Greg Climan (DHS Class of 2004) as they host their spring Red/White scrimmage. The scrimmage starts at 4 PM at Dunedin Memorial Stadium on the campus of Dunedin High School. Admission is free. Hope to see you there and Let's Go Falcons!
