My first experience with hand sewing was at the age of five and I have been seriously honing my skills on the machine since middle school (aka, a long time ago!). I started with small craft-type items, got into garment construction, and then worked professionally at a custom drapery workroom for several years. From the historically accurate to the fantastic and funny. I love the challenge of fixing, repairing, and creating something new out of something old, but I like to create from scratch as well. I dabble in crochet and crafting, but fabric is really my thing. I used to take sewing jobs on commission, but most folks don't want to pay sewists a fair wage for their skills and YEARS of expertise, so I switched gears and now offer sewing education.
