Drafting students had the opportunity to visit EMU Interior Design program with a campus tour afterwards. Thank you Dr. Diane for setting this up for us, students had a lot of fun!

Students started off in the drafting lab to learn about space planning and elevation drawings, then to the computer lab for some experience with 3D software and a VR headset that allows us to walk through work designed by students. Finally to the materials lab to learn about color schemes and composition. We enjoyed a complimentary lunch before heading out on the tour. It was a great day!!

I also got to catch up with a couple of former students of mine, so happy to see them on successful paths!!

Drafting and Construction Trades Students were able to travel to Washtenaw County for the Just Build It Expo. Universities/Colleges, Prospective Employers and Union Reps were all ready and excited to share with students what their industry does. Lots of hands-on activities for them to play with and so much technology being integrated in the industries. We had a lot of fun exploring.

A HUGE thank you to Dundee Castings for hosting our Drafting students again. Mr. Crawley and Mr. Roe did a great job sharing with the students what they do in the manufacturing and automotive industry! We were able to visit both facilities and hear all about the industry. Students were able to make connections with what we do in the classroom and how that translates to manufacturing. Both 2D and 3D work was displayed today in the office and the foundry.

Drafting Parents!
We have a field trip coming up October 7 that has a location change.
The 'Just Build It' Expo has always been at Eastern Michigan University. They changed the location and I didn't catch it before I sent forms home.
The expo will be held at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds instead of EMU. I will also be sending a note home.
