WITH GRATITUDE
This week, I’m celebrating Alison Hatcher of Events Uncorked.

Alison was one of the first women in Sonoma County who really saw me.

We met when she was working at Farmhouse Inn and I was looking for ways to find my place in the w**e and yoga world. From there came w**e experiences, travel, golf, plenty of laughter—and a friendship that continued through Covid, changing careers and all the chapters that followed.

There is something very special about the people who recognize something in you before you quite know what you’re building yourself.

Alison was one of those people for me.

DAY 20 OF 30 | STRENGTH + GRACE 🤍
I took a little break from filming. My 20 minutes of daily movement continued.

Today was measurement day. I’m still at 142 pounds. Some measurements are down, some are up. I’ve also been sick, so this check-in comes with a little extra grace.

All in all, I’m proud of myself. I kept the commitment I made, and I’ve added about five minutes of abs to my routine.

For these next ten days, I’m considering a little cardio and paying closer attention to my food habits. Carbs have still been a source of comfort, and I’m noticing that with curiosity.

The habit is becoming part of my life. That feels worth celebrating.

Twenty days in. Ten to go.

Habit creates the structure. Grace makes room for real life. 🤍

The depot in Duncans Mills was restored in 1971. The last train left in 1935.

Some names come with a story. Ours came with fourteen floods and one move upriver.

Friendly service it was a busy day when we visited I found two fragrances that I loved I wish I'd had more time and I wish the space was larger. I got the room spray for a Bodega Bay and I love it and then found Redwood something and only the candle form and I wish it was in a room spray too. I was visiting from South Carolina and I'm glad you have a website

Who was Duncan? Two of them, as it turns out.

Sam and Alexander Duncan ran a sawmill on the Sonoma coast. In the spring of 1876, high water flooded their mill camp for the fourteenth time. The next year, they did what anyone would do. They moved five miles up the Russian River, to a sunlit flat in a curve of the water.

The railroad came through. The last train left in 1935. The depot still stands.

Fourteen floods. One move. Still on the river.

DAY 16 OF 30 | STRENGTH + GRACE
My 20 minutes are done, and I hope something in this little journey is offering you encouragement for your own.

Today, I found myself thinking about foundations.

When I consider what I’m building with this daily practice, my thoughts go toward the structure itself: something familiar, something steady, something I can return to.
And from that foundation, I feel there’s so much room for freedom and creativity.

It connects my love of movement with the way I approach creating. A little practice, repeated. A place to begin again.

For me, today, that means continuing to show up and staying curious about what unfolds.

DAY 15 OF 30 | STRENGTH + GRACE
I noticed something this morning: I didn’t really think about my 20 minutes.

I just did them. They had become part of the morning.
That feels like a meaningful little shift after two weeks of finding the time, preparing, and showing up through all the things life brings.

My intention at the beginning was to give daily movement some structure. Today, halfway through these 30 days, I caught a glimpse of that structure becoming familiar.
I’m looking toward Day 21 as another milestone. For today, I’m enjoying this small moment of ease.

Habit creates the structure. Grace makes room for real life.
