I’m curious as to who struggles with anxiety and depression? I know I used to. So, have you ever thought about why we struggle with anxiety and depression? For those of us that have and had to battle with depression and anxiety, we first need to what caused it, when did it start to control our lives, why does it control our lifes, and how to take our lives back. These symptoms can come from one of two things, heredity and/or environmental situations. Anxiety and depression symptoms are usually the result of PTSD.

I’m curious to know who battles this because, I’ve lived a majority of my battling these conditions, but I wasn’t born with it. It was environmental. I’m fortunate enough to have finally in 2013, merry a Neuropsycologist and get the appropriate talk therapy treatment from my husband. Yes I tried all those meds from the doc, but nothing worked. After many years of battling our body just doesn’t work right! Every system of the body is effected! This disrupts our whole life and all we do to live.
Here’s the facts, if you want to take the time to read. I have solutions too! This is not info I pulled out my ass either. I lived it, felt it, lost it all and God blessed me with a hubby who specializes in it and was able to guide me accordingly. So for those who struggle like I used to, and need a reasonable solution and are ready to change the way their life is…..here it goes, read this! It maybe just the solutions you or someone you love needs too!

PTSD stands for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. It is a mental health condition that some people develop after experiencing or witnessing an environmentally physical traumatic event, such as combat, natural disasters, accidents, or assault. Symptoms of PTSD can include flashbacks, nightmares, severe anxiety, and uncontrollable thoughts about the event. It can significantly impact a person's daily life and functioning. Treatment options for PTSD often include therapy, medication, or a combination of both.

If PTSD is left untreated, it can significantly impact a person's quality of life and functioning in various areas. Some potential consequences of untreated PTSD include:

1. Worsening Symptoms: PTSD symptoms can intensify over time. Flashbacks, nightmares, and intrusive thoughts about the traumatic event may become more frequent and severe due to triggers or reminders of the traumatic event in which the body responds without you controlling it.

2. Impaired Relationships: PTSD can strain relationships with family members, friends, and romantic partners. Emotional numbness, irritability, and avoidance behaviors associated with PTSD can make it challenging to maintain healthy connections.

3. Decreased Quality of Life: Untreated PTSD can lead to a decreased overall quality of life. Individuals may experience difficulties in work or school, decreased productivity, and a loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities.

4. Substance Abuse: Some individuals may turn to drugs or alcohol as a way to cope with the symptoms of PTSD. This can lead to the development of substance use disorders, further complicating mental health issues.

5. Increased Risk of Other Mental Health Conditions: Untreated PTSD can increase the risk of developing other mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, suicidal thoughts or behaviors, and psychosomatic conditions, which some of us may suffer from now, but docs can’t pin point anything. All test ran are negative and the anxiety and depression gets worse leading to physical health problems.

6. Physical Health Problems: Chronic stress associated with untreated PTSD can contribute to physical health problems such as cardiovascular issues, gastrointestinal problems, and chronic pain from psychosomatic conditions. Psychosomatic refers to physical symptoms or illnesses that are thought to be caused or significantly influenced by psychological factors, such as stress, emotions, or mental health conditions. In other words, psychosomatic symptoms have a psychological origin but manifest as physical symptoms.

Although, standing afar and looking in, these symptoms seem like “attention seeking actions”, but that is not true! Psychosomatic conditions are real and can cause significant distress and impairment in daily life. Treatment for psychosomatic symptoms often involves addressing both the psychological and physical aspects of the condition, such as therapy to address underlying stressors and coping mechanisms, along with medical interventions to manage physical symptoms or reduce them by putting back into your body the necessary, vitamins and minerals, that our bodies lose overtime with age, and become extremely lessened by ongoing anxiety and depression.

Overall, untreated PTSD can have serious and long-lasting consequences. Seeking professional help and support in the form of Talk Therapy and getting back to basics with what we choose to consume like daily vitamins and minerals is essential for managing symptoms and improving overall well-being for those of us that have no more hope left! To learn more about how I’ve combated and overcame my psychosomatic conditions from my PTSD’d life, drop a curious emoji 🤔 in comments. I always love to help!
