Final day of our last team competition this dance season and it was a special one. Watching these dances and dancers grow throughout the season is so special. These dancers become artists as they bring the dance to life through their story telling and movement. It is especially bittersweet as we watch our graduating seniors perform on the competition stage one last time. We are so proud of them, and thankful for their leadership at Heartbeat.

Saturday we watched our Heartstars pre-Company groups take the stage for their first competition and they rocked it! Special shoutout to Ay Caramba for earning a 1st overall for their performance.

MANY Solo overall awards and scholarships were earned by our incredible soloists this weekend and we are so proud of their hard work in performing their solos all season long!

These dancers earned many awards yesterday and throughout the weeknd but a few highlights were:

⭐️1st overall for Gratitude
⭐️1st overall for Ay Caramba
⭐️1st overall for High School Musical
⭐️1st overall for Burn
⭐️Technique award for Everywhere I Go
⭐️Technique award for Brown Eyed Girl
⭐️Highest scoring dance for Division 2 for Burn

⭐️And Highest scoring Division 2 studio for Heartbeat!

So grateful for this studio family of ours. Not just the dances these girls performed this weekend, and all the hard work they have put in over the past 8 months, but their hearts for each other, other studios and kindness they continue to demonstrate.

Friday, our studio was awarded the Studio Spirit award which is one of the biggest honors in that it shines a light on what the audience doesn’t see backstage. I never take for granted the spirit of our dancers, the family atmosphere that we strive to create, and the love our dancers show each other.

Today our studio was awarded the Studio Excellence award for the highest “Overall Performance” scores from the weekend. We are humbled by this award as we watched countless amazing dancers take the stage this weekend. We are thrilled to be able to share the stage with such talent, and to receive this award. Every HBD dancer contributed to this award and it was truly the most amazing honor to end our Celebrity weekend.

There aren’t enough words to capture the feelings of gratitude for getting to be a part of this HBD family. Thank you dancers, parents and friends for being a part of our HBD family! ❤️
