Hmmmmm
What is a tactical weapon / item?
Answer any tool, weapon or item that can be used to protect, defend, attack with or avoid detection with in a hostile situation.
Example a key held between the fingers used to attack key body parts. Is a " tactical key" for the few seconds it is used in such a way. The rest of the time it is your back door key for a dollar of cost.
What is a modern tactical key?
Basically the same item with bling added for thirty dollars that has no other purpose and can't unlock or lock a damn thing

A few words on the lowly 22lr.
Seen by many as useless for other than punching paper and hunting squirrels.
Here are a few things you may not know about the 22lr.
It is the preferred round of poachers who kill up to moose with it.
The 22 lr has fed more families than perhaps any other cartridge.
It has long been the come to you butchers cartridge of choice for many, many decades.
It has been used to protect the farm, homestead, cabin, barn, hen house and garden from "varmints" since its inception.
Multiple past and present military units use the round suppressed to take out centries, enemy troops and airline hijackers.
Many a young boy or girl helped feed their family but hunting small game with it.
It is "the" cartridge of choice among trappers I have known including myself.
More bad guys have fallen to the 22lr than you my think.
Ok enough for now

Let's talk knives.
I have been using and carrying some type of a knife for 62 of my 68 years. From a simple jack knife to big fixed blade knives
Here is what I have learned.
Clean fairly smooth handles are best. I prefere wood, marcota or leather stack. But the mora knife handles are good too.
Saw teeth, seratted blades and combos there of are very need / mission specific.
Fancy handles that look great with antler bumps, rasp like texture, spikes, notches etc. look tachticool and leave blisters on your fingers and hands
A 3.5 to 4.5 inch blade is a great general purpose tool. A six to eight inch Bowie style serves many multiple purposes including brutal defense.
An eight to twelve inch blade is a huge asset if you are seperated from your hatchet or saw.
A good skinner is indespensible for a trapper and for caping big game.
I always carry a small victrinox folder (2 blade) a 3.75 inch folder and a small back up that hides very well.
I stay very clear of wavy, spiky, scalled, raspy handles and the latest wis-bang tachticool blade.

I would like to introduce a new product that I feel is a pretty good idea.
It is not my product or concept. It is just a very good idea I was introduced to a few days ago.
Anyone who has put a tag on the deer they just shot and by the time it was out of the woods the tag was gone; well here is a pretty darn good solution.
Simply put your filled out tag in the 'Deer-Bud" ( it unscrews in two parts. and screw it into the ear canal. It locks in the ear canal without damage since the threads are rounded and do not cut the ear canal tissue.

Thanks for checking it out.
