Urgent Request! The Dunbar Reunion Committee has lots of merchandise to sell! We want to participate in the Dunbar Fall Festival on Friday & Saturday, Sept. 16 & 17.

We need volunteers to help work our table during Saturday from 9:00 am until approximately 4:00 pm. Please contact Susan Reed Gaskins (President) at 304-532-8828 if you can help. We need to know by Thursday (9/15) at noon! Please help if you can!

Grand Reunion Alumni will be selling our merchandise at Dunbar United Methodist Church on Saturday, 8/27/22. Then again at the Dunbar Fall Festival being held Friday, 9/16 and Saturday, 9/17.
The Grand Reunion Alumni committee held a meeting on 8/14/2022. We are moving forward to the next Grand Reunion on October 21, 2023.
We also made the decision about the committee. We have dropped about 18-20 members off the committee in the last 9 years. We only have 6-8 involved at this time. We can't continue with this small group. There is a lot of planning that goes into these Grand Reunions and we just don't have enough volunteers helping us. So unless we can get more individuals involved locally then we will have to disband this committee. The youngest member at this time graduated in 1975. So we definitely will need later years involved.
With this decision being made for our group, next Grand Reunion in 2023 will probably be the last one we hold.
We just wanted everyone to know what/why this decision has been made.
We heard many complaints that last Grand Reunion was to costly, so we have decided to make it a one night event.
The 2023 Grand Reunion will only be held on Saturday, 10/21/23 evening this time. We are checking on possible meet and greet at our old DHS but haven't finalized that at this time. If we do get to do this event on Friday night, it will be an early event with no alcohol allowed.
So we are recommending that each class plan to do something on Friday evening for their own class or classes. This will give those out of town alumni another event to attend.
If classes do plan an event, then if you send the information to our email: [email protected], we will include the information on our registration form that will be sent out in January 2023.
We must receive the information no later than December 1, 2022 to include in registration.
Last item, if any classes has an updated mailing address, please send that to our email: [email protected].
We are sorry this could possibly be an end to these Grand Reunions but without more involvement or attendance it just can't happen.

We had a Grand Reunion meeting today. We need each graduation class to send us an updated address of your classmates to our email: [email protected]. We are looking to update as much correct information for all UD/DHS alumni. We are in continued discussions of the next Grand Reunion. More information will follow in the next few weeks. So get those addresses sent ASAP. Make sure to include graduation year.

Next All Class Grand Reunion Committee meeting will be 2/23/20 from 2p-4p at Dunbar United Methodist Church. If we have bad weather, it will be rescheduled and will update on Alumni page.
We need more people to come to these meetings. We only had 7 attendees today. If more people don't get involved, then Committee will have no choice but to dissolve and so will the Grand Reunions. We need everyone's help to make this event happen.
So if you live locally, we need you to come out and help us plan the July 30-31, 2021 Grand Reunion. Message us your name and telephone number or email to: [email protected]. You will receive a reminder call of the meeting.
Let's not let this reunion disappear like our high school did.
