Sometimes it feels like our future goals and dreams are far out of reach. We have no idea how, when or if they will ever come to pass.

It can be hard to continue to trust and prepare for something when we don't even know if it will ever happen.

I know as singles, it can be difficult wondering if you will ever get married and what that will look like. And I'm experiencing that feeling in this season myself for different reasons.

But God says he has plans to give us hope and a future and that He will prepare a way for us.

I hope this encourages your heart this morning like it did mine.

This may not be the best quality photo, but I love how it captures an unfiltered moment in time when we were just enjoying being around each other.

My sister told me later on that when she first met Jerry, she thought, "This must be what Heather looks like in love." I didn't have to tell her, she could just see it. It was DIFFERENT. I was different.

Before I met my husband, I thought I was in love a few times, but I had no idea what it actually meant . . . Until I found someone who I could completely rest in. I didn't have to perform, there was zero insecurity, and no fear. I could just be . . . and four years, one (almost two) kids and four (soon to be five) moves later, life is decidedly crazier, but I can still rest in our love.

Life is unpredictable and unsteady enough, wait for a love that is steadfast, reliable and unfiltered.

It can be so easy to get down, discouraged and impatient when things aren't going the way we'd hoped. To be honest, I'm currently struggling with that myself! But that's what the enemy wants. He wants to distract us from our mission & purpose, to keep us from aligning with the right people and to keep us from having kingdom marriages. Instead of allowing distraction and impatience to lead us away from what God has for us, we can choose to believe truth, we can choose to believe we still have a PURPOSE and YOU can choose to believe He has someone for you! Don't let your impatience cause you to settle for a counterfeit or give up altogether. RECLAIM your season.

I FINALLY have an office and yet . . . I usually end up working on the couch. Comfort is king when you're in your third trimester 😂

I want to share some EXCITING news. I just started a NEW free private Facebook group for single women who want to date with purpose and prepare for marriage💍

My goal is to provide a community where you can connect with other women who are in a similar season and a place where we can have real, transparent conversations about faith dating, and marriage.

I will be sharing free trainings each week just in the group and answering any questions.

Looking back on the woman I used to be . . . I attracted and dated all the wrong guys. Guys who didn't value me or want anything serious. I spent years in the wrong relationships and longing for a man who truly wanted to be with me for ME.

Now, I am married to a man who loves God, believes in me and treats me like a queen 👑. I never have to question whether he loves me, because he not only tells me, but SHOWS me every. single. day.

But it wasn't just a coincidence that I finally attracted a man like this. It started with learning to value myself and realizing my self-worth. Once I realized my worth, I was no longer willing to accept less than God's best.

True confidence goes beyond outward appearance. A woman who is secure in who she is, emanates an inner beauty that is highly attractive.

It comes from a heart that rests in who God says she is & an understanding of her innate worth.

This self-assurance, without the need for affirmation from others, is one of the most attractive qualities you can possess.

When we put ALL of our focus on the person we are dating at the expense of our relationship with God, our passions and our purpose, we risk losing sight of who WE are.

I once spent over two years in a relationship where I was SO focused on his needs and the things he wanted to do, that I gave up everything I cared about. I neglected my relationship with God, my passion for painting, horseback riding and travel because he wasn't interested in those things. BUT it's totally okay and healthy to have your OWN interests.

It was SO unhealthy and when it ended, I was completely LOST. It felt like I was starting over and having to discover who I actually was again.

I was so afraid of losing him that I lost myself.

I didn't know any better. I didn't know that you can actually be fully yourself AND fully loved in a relationship.

And one of the BEST things about my marriage now, is that we can explore each other's interests together as well, grow together and learn new things.

A healthy relationship should enhance, inspire and cultivate, not diminish, stifle & neglect.
