Spirit of the Lake Community School is excited to announce an open position for an Enrollment and Community Engagement Program Manager.
Our mission: To honor and educate the whole child by equally engaging body, mind, emotion and spirit. Spirit of the Lake Community School is located near the shores of Lake Superior in Duluth, MN. SLCS is an independent, community-based school that is deeply inspired by Rudolf Steiner's indications and serves children Preschool age to 3rd grade.

Enrollment and Community Engagement Program Manager
Position Description
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree or AA degree with equivalent experience, preferably in a related field
● Experience working in education, childcare, or related non-profit administration
● Experience managing effective and clear communication in an organizational setting
● An understanding of enrollment planning, tracking, and development strategy
● Marketing, fundraising, and event planning experience
● Ability to attend to daily details that lead to the healthy functioning of the school
● Ability to effectively delegate tasks and work collaboratively with faculty and volunteers
● Flexibility and adaptability in meeting the needs of school families
● Commitment to personal and professional self-development
● Knowledge of the Waldorf Education Model, Waldorf administrative practices, or a strong interest in learning this model is preferred.
Expectations and Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Communications
● Actively engages with the community to promote and inform of SLCS philosophy and
Waldorf-inspired education
● Supports business manager in all school communications, including aligned
communication between families, faculty and other school staff, and community
stakeholders
● Nurtures family relationships with the school as a whole
● Receives parent and community feedback and responds or directs appropriately.
● Ensures implementation of all policies outlined in parent handbook, including grievances. Serve as administrative representative as requested to resolve faculty and student/parent conflicts.
● Supports faculty on policy decisions/implementation with students and the parent body
● Facilitates active engagement with current families and manages volunteer efforts
● Networks with other educational agencies, organizations, and institutions who are aligned
with our mission. Cultivates relationships with potential feeder schools and programs,
● Leads parent engagement efforts through committee work (fundraising/development
committee, parent council, parent partners) project work, or community events.
● Submits monthly written reports to the board of directors
● Serves as co-chair for development committee (with Board Chair) and leads other parent groups relative to community events, volunteer projects and fundraising efforts.
● Supports Business Manager and Board Chair with donor cultivation and tracking.
● Event planning and ex*****on.
Enrollment
● Creates enrollment strategies and goals in collaboration with the Leadership Council, Board and Faculty.
● Manages enrollment inquiries including a timely response. Spearheads the enrollment and admissions process, including TADS enrollment process
● Facilitate active engagement with potential families
● Cultivate relationships with potential feeder schools and programs
● Responsible for marketing development and implementation, including social media management, branding, messaging, promotional materials, and creative development
● Maintains the SLCS website by keeping it up to date with events and school messaging, and maintaining a fresh and evolving visual design
General Administrative
● Maintains cohesive relationship with all faculty members, administration, staff, and board of directors.
● Supports Business Manager in creating and implementing policy (financial and administrative) in collaboration with faculty and with support as needed - limited to non-programming, academics related policy
● Submits written reports to the board of directors relative to community engagement and enrollment.
● Regular communication with faculty, admin team, and leadership council to communicate needs or concerns in a timely manner
● Participation in Leadership Council as needed or requested.
● Participation in faculty meetings
● Ensure high standard of ethics by providing for child and family confidentiality
Special Programs
● Support the overall development of new initiatives or community outreach programming, including but not limited to: homeschool programs, intergenerational programs, summer camp, or other programs or projects deemed beneficial for the growth of the school, as agreed upon by the administrative team and leadership council.
Accountability:
The Enrollment and Community Engagement Program Manager is accountable to the Chair of the Board of Directors and works in collaboration with Leadership Council to establish priorities
and direction for administration. Annual performance reviews will be conducted by Board Chair with input from other team members.
