The Minnesota Rural Broadband Coalition has asked for our help to boost participation in the MN Broadband Speed Test. The goal of the speed test initiative is to collect and map broadband speeds across the state. The data will be shared with legislators, giving them the information needed to apply for grants and garner support to improve broadband access in our state, especially in rural communities.

About the Speed Test Results
When you take the speed test, you’ll see a dashboard of your results immediately and your data be added to a statewide map.
An example speed test results dashboard shows download and upload speeds in Mbps and ping and jitter speeds in ms.

ITSS is hiring paid interns to help build websites for groups on campus and assist with the upgrade from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8. Professional staff will provide initial web development training to the students hired. The students will also work closely with ITSS staff to create and maintain documentation for Drupal, UMD’s web content management system. This job is a great opportunity for students who want to:
Work with technology
Develop writing skills
Practice basic project management
Gain experience working with customers and teams
If desired, ITSS will work with your department to provide college credit for this internship.
