Don't miss our window weight workshop on April 21st at 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Join Northern Bedrock for a hands-on preservation workshop
focused on repairing and replacing window weights in a historic Duluth home.
Participants will learn how traditional double-hung windows function, how
weight and pulley systems support smooth sash movement, and how to diagnose problems such as broken cords, missing weights, or stuck sashes.

Through guided instruction and live demonstrations,
attendees will gain practical experience accessing weight pockets, selecting
appropriate sash cord, safely removing and reinstalling weights, and restoring
proper window operation while preserving historic materials.

This one-day workshop is ideal for homeowners, preservation
enthusiasts, tradespeople, and anyone interested in maintaining historic
buildings using appropriate methods and materials.

Hey!

Now that we have wrapped up our 2025 field season, Northern Bedrock is continuing to identify potential projects for our 2026 season. We partner exclusively with nonprofit organizations and government agencies, but if you don't fit that definition, please still reach out as we look to expand into the future. Our crews support a wide range of project types, including log and masonry work, carpentry, and museum collections. If you have a project in mind or have questions on whether it's a good fit, we encourage you to reach out. We're always happy to explore ideas and discuss possibilities.

Contact us at [email protected], and we can discuss projects.
