We had a blast tonight making rope toys to donate to our furry friends at Animal Allies Humane Society!

Happy Tuesday, Mortar Board members! Can you believe it’s already week three? Our first service event is going to be NEXT TUESDAY (9/17) at 6pm in Engineering 118. If you’re an animal lover, you won’t want to miss this one! We’re going to be making t-shirt rope toys for our furry friends at Animal Allies. Later this month, we’ll have the chance to visit the shelter to deliver the toys and get a behind-the-scenes tour! Please see tonight’s email for more information and the sign-up sheet.

Last night members participated in the Relay for Life to show support to those affected by cancer. We are so overjoyed to announce that we not only reached our fundraising goal, but went well beyond it! Tau Delta chapter raised $1,360.50 for the American Cancer Society!

Reminder: TONIGHT from 8 pm - 1 am is the Relay for Life at the UMD Ward Wells Field House!

WHAT TO BRING:
Comfy clothes and a blanket for a place to sit on the floor.
Money (or Venmo) if you want to buy food, merchandise, and more.

HOW TO GET THERE:
Park in one of the designated parking lots at UMD near the football stadium. DO NOT park in the ramp outside of the Ward Wells Fieldhouse.
We are in the UMD Ward Wells Fieldhouse, the building right next to the football stadium. Walk down the ramp to enter the building.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ARRIVE:
Check-in at the first table when you enter the door. If you raised over $100, you will receive a Relay for Life t-shirt.
Find a spot on the floor in front of the stage with your blanket and your team. Get ready for our opening ceremony to start!

A huge thank you to all of our members (both new and retiring) for coming out tonight. We had a great meeting. It was the last meeting for our retiring members but the first of many for our new members.

We will be tabling in the Kirby Garage Tuesday through Thursday to promote Relay for Life! Each of our Relay teams have a jar for PENNY WARS! Whichever team ends up with the most points wins a prize and all the money is donated to the American Cancer Society. Stop by to put some pennies in & grab free stuff!

Last night we had a wonderful celebration of initiating our wonderful new members and recognizing our outstanding retiring members. The Tau Delta chapter could not ask for a better group of young people who are devoted to scholarship, leadership, and service. Great job everyone! We cannot wait to see all that the 2019-2020 members will accomplish. We pass down the torch to you.
