What a fun inaugural event our Hooked on Machining High School Fishing Tournament was today out at the Boulder Lake Reservoir. Not a lot of fish were caught, but an enjoyable time was had by all.
Participants used bait they designed in computer-aided design (SolidWorks) and computer-aided manufacturing to CNC programming to manufacture the best bait for the tournament.
Thanks to the over 30 high schoolers who participated and a big thank you to our supporters and our staff organizers of the event.

Lake Superior College will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. LSC will resume normal operations on Tuesday, May 26.

Earlier this week, the Carpentry program showed off the build they worked on this year. This build was a little different than previous projects as LSC students worked on a small apartment complex.
This particular build helped our students better understand the whole scope of a project.
Additionally, in each of the apartment units, LSC students did all of the cabinetry. Great job IceHawks!!

ICYMI: Friday was Pinning Day at LSC as we held ceremonies for our Radiologic Technology, Practical Nursing, Professional Nursing and Professional Nursing AST programs.
We will recognize these students again later today at our Commencement Ceremony at Symphony Hall beginning at 2 p.m. down at the DECC.
