Fall is upon us, evidently! And with school soon in session, we should be eager to give our children (and adults) the full scope of education by enrolling them in piano lessons.

Why piano lessons? It teaches children discipline, healthy emotions, math, multi-tasking, and growth in musical skills that will amaze their school music teachers in years to come.

I teach lessons to those who have completed Kindergarten, all the way into adulthood. I have had many wonderful children in my studio, and have enjoyed them a great deal! In addition, I have had many adults who were disappointed that they never kept up with the lessons they had as a child, and wish that they could do something about it. Well now you can! For those who have some musical knowledge, I have an adult beginner piano book that rapidly brings you up to the skill level you once had. For those who are just starting out, I will teach you one skill level at a time, and soon you'll be enjoying the sounds of music in your own home once again. Those who are getting "up in years" it is said that playing piano is one of the best ways to keep your mind sharp!

A little Christmas humor!

I hope that all of the talented musicians out there have found a way to grow your skills and abilities. Spin Piano Studio has continued to serve many talented students both in person (only a few) and by phone. I'm impressed with how well the students are able to wrap their brains around doing lessons by phone - even down to one of my youngest student. This shows their dedication and love of music, and a desire to continue to grow in it.

I may be opening up an additional day to add more students in January, so stay tuned for that. It would be on a Friday. I would not recommend having beginner students on a telephone lesson, as they haven't learned any of the basic skills yet.

Thank-you for your continued interest in my studio. I love the students that I have, and look forward to encouraging more musicians to love the beauty of playing this beautiful instrument as much as I do. (As a reminder, I do serve both child, adult and everything in between.)

Welcome to the Fall season of Spin Piano Studio! I have been enjoying many of my students throughout this unusual time - some via telephone lessons, and more recently, some at my home. Sadly, some have had to step aside due to the current situation, and I miss them deeply!

But lets look to the future! I am hoping to fill my days with wonderful students who may or may not have experience, but would just love the enjoyment that comes from playing piano. If you have taken lessons from me before, I encourage you to consider starting up again - even if by telephone. If you are an adult or child who would like to begin lessons, I have curriculum for many levels - primers for children, up to adult beginner and beyond. I also integrate many popular and familiar songs to create interest for the student. If you are a home-school parent who is now lacking music in your curriculum, perhaps I can add that missing piece to your day once a week.

I have enjoyed music in many forms ever since I was a child. It challenges, brings enjoyment and peace, keeps me growing in intellect, and is something I love to share with others!

A little red haired girl named Linnea made her Mom and I cry! I had given her "Over the Rainbow" for an extra song for her lesson this past week. She did it pretty good at lesson time, but I invited her Mom to come in and hear it (with me doing a little teacher part). She nailed it! It was SO beautiful! Both her Mom and I were standing here in tears! I've had a few students get me to that point, but not many - less than 5, I'd say. I was so proud of her. I was glad her Mom was here to hear it! Those are the moments that make me certain as to why I teach lessons. What a joy!
