What if one of the most sustainable innovations in building materials wasn’t new at all—just a better way to use wood?
🔥 Heat + 💨 Steam = a natural transformation.
Thermally modified wood delivers the warmth and beauty of real wood with enhanced durability, stability, and longevity—without relying on added chemicals.
Because sustainability isn’t just about how a product is made. It’s about how long it lasts.

Real flame, real results. Our BRNSH Collection of burned and burned/brushed finishes is a stand-out choice when it comes to high performing cladding with a contemporary appeal.
By combining ancient techniques with modern material, you get dramatic grain and deep texture you can feel. Available in Coal, Carbon, and Mineral for a burned, bold, and beautiful look - BRNSH is not subtle and it’s not trying to be.

Every board has a story.
Before it becomes a beautiful façade, deck, or sauna, it begins here — our Thermowood® process uses heat and steam to transform sustainably harvested wood into materials engineered for exceptional performance on any project.

Natural materials. Commercial-grade performance. 🍜
This recently opened Ramen Tatsu-Ya was designed by the team from Michael Hsu Office of Architecture and showcases the beauty and durability of Arbor Wood Co. Thermally Modified Ash, proving that high-performance building materials don’t have to sacrifice warmth, texture, or authenticity.
By combining the timeless appeal of real wood with enhanced dimensional stability and durability, thermally modified wood provided a sustainable solution built to withstand the elements.
As this project ages, the wood will naturally develop a distinguished silver-gray patina, creating a façade that evolves alongside its environment while maintaining lasting performance.

Poplar doesn’t get enough credit. It’s a fast-growing domestic species with a tight, consistent grain — and when it comes out of our kilns, it takes on a color depth that stops people in their tracks.
Thermally modified poplar is stable, chemical-free, and performs well across cladding and dimensional applications. It’s also one of the more sustainable species choices we offer, given how quickly it grows back.
Beautiful wood that’s easy to feel good about specifying.
