Radloff students are excited about recycling thanks to our Ready, Set, Recycle game at Science Night. Teams tested their recycling knowledge by sorting "mystery" recycling bins to determine what could be recycled at home and what should be thrown out with the trash. Thanks to former Radloff Raiders Anamika, Elizabeth, and Adolfo for creating this game and being excellent game show hosts!

Thank you to for visiting our Science Night. We learned so much about what you can and can't put in your home recycling bin. Did you know that you can't recycle glass, styrofoam, or plastic bags at home? Check out the Gwinnett Recycles website for more information.

Thank you Ga State Bio Bus for coming to Radloff and teaching a hands on lesson called "Microbes and You" - what microbes are and how they are everywhere! We swabbed common areas (laptops, door k***s, water fountains, etc...) and Ga State incubated our samples. Very interesting to see how clean or dirty some areas are. Mr. Dail needs to clean his computer and the boy's bathroom is gross!

Radloff's Food Waste Warriors! We conducted a food waste audit to see how much food Radloff students throw away at lunch. Here's what we found: 1176 students ate lunch and created 80 lbs of milk & water waste; 261 lbs of uneaten food waste; 202 lbs of recoverable items like unopened milk, uneaten apples, carrots, apple sauce, etc. We even had 68 lbs of food left on the serving line at the end of the day! We want to thank our volunteers from Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful and Gwinnett Recycles for all of their help. We couldn't have done it without them!

Radloff students have done it again - they raised over $3200 during our Fall walk-a-thon for our adopted school Hamdallaye Elementary in Guinea, West Africa! In two years, we have raised $14,000 to help bring running water, replace doors, build benches & desks, and help improve education at our sister school! Thank you to all of the students and staff at Radloff for their contributions!

Thank you HealthMPowers for coming to Radloff today and setting up the SNAP booth - a chance for our kids to take crazy pictures and celebrate making healthier choices in nutrition and physical activity! We are thankful to have HealthMPowers working with our students!
This is what hauling 27 bags of trash and 4 tires out of the woods looks like (400 pounds of trash is heavy). Putting environmental education into real world practice by taking care of our local watershed!

During our Bromolow Creek clean up event today, we were able to collect 27 bags of trash and 4 tires- almost 400 pounds of litter removed from the creek that runs right beside our school! Thank you John Butler and Jordan Girard from Gwinnett County Water Resources for leading us on this!

STEM Saturday at Radloff: 7th grade continued learning about the impact of water quality on our community by touring the F. Wayne Hill Water Resources Center in Buford today. It is amazing to see how much science is involved in treating 35 million gallons of sewage every day. We ended the day exploring the Mill Creek Nature Center's trails and wetlands. A very special thank you to Rebecca Shelton from Gwinnett Water Resources for our special Saturday tour!
