Stop scrolling if you've ever built something nobody backed yet. Belief wasn't the starting point for me. It showed up later, after enough small proof points stacked up. If you're waiting to feel sure before starting, that feeling often comes later instead.

The fat burning zone is a myth.

Not in the way you think. You do burn a higher percentage of fat at lower intensity, but you burn far fewer total calories overall. Push harder and you burn more total energy, fat included, even though a smaller percentage of it comes from fat directly. The percentage was never the number that mattered.

The real reason people quit has nothing to do with motivation.

It's whether they're honest with themselves about the past. Are they being honest about why past attempts didn't stick? That's the real signal — not fitness level, not willpower. If you've never finished something before, that's not a fitness problem. That's the actual thing to fix first, whatever the goal is.

Terrified to start? Good. That means it actually matters to you. Every client who cared about the outcome was nervous walking in the door. The ones who don't care don't show up nervous. They just don't show up. Fear is information. It's not a stop sign.

Stop comparing your gym floor to everyone else's.

I tell clients this more than almost anything else. Somebody's always lifting heavier, moving faster, further along than you are on any given day. That's not information about you, it's just where they happen to be in their own timeline. The only comparison that actually means anything is you three months ago.

I'd fire my first hire again. Not because they were bad. Because I hired wrong. I hired for good energy instead of checking if they could actually coach. Cost me months of retraining and a few clients who didn't come back. Now I'd rather have someone slightly awkward but technically sharp than someone likeable and unprepared.

Discipline is overrated, and that'll annoy some of you.

It's not the thing to chase. It's what's left over. Discipline is what's left over. The environment and the systems do most of the work first. Chase the system. The discipline shows up as a side effect.

Fix your incline smith press in 3 steps.

Here's what most people get wrong on all three. One — keep the bar over your upper chest. Two — puff your chest up. Don't lay flat against the bench. Three — grip about one fist outside shoulder width. Keep your elbows under your wrists, not flared out.

The marketing move that almost sank us.

I was talking to everyone, which meant I was talking to no one. Running ads before I understood who they were actually for. Then I got specific about who I was trying to reach. The same budget started performing completely differently. Expensive way to learn a simple lesson.

You're barely working your chest with this one mistake. Keep your chest up the whole time — don't let it sink into the bench. Angle the dumbbells to about 45 degrees. Picture making the letter A as you press, the bottoms coming together at the top. That's what actually works your chest.
