🔥 out.

2020 was the year of the nurse and 2021 is the year of recovery of the nurse...

What are the three symptoms of nurse burnout? Save this post!
1. Emotional exhaustion
2. Depersonalization
3. Lack of personal accomplishment

I know personally I’m experiencing unknown levels of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization. What symptoms are you experiencing?

There’s many different ways to battle and combat burnout and 5 tips are...
1. Build Your Resilience (dig deeper then you’ve ever had to)
2. Allll the selfcare things something as easy as a 5 min meditation to calm your mind, a walk out side, a quick bubble bath, journaling ANYTHING that makes YOU feel better
3. Strong relationships in and out of the work place check in with eachother and make sure you are all doing okay
4. Recognizing Emotional triggers and how to deal and process them
5. Being kind to yourself and others... the last thing you need to be doing is being hard on your self for going through a hard time. Also, don’t go out of your way to ruin someone else’s day we have enough issues we have to deal with and we don’t need someone adding to them 🥂

*Thank you nurse.org for this original blog post when I was doing some research Danielle LeVeck: DNP, ACNPC-AG, CCNS, CCRN* find more details on this post at https://nurse.org/articles/risks-for-nurse-burnout-symptoms/! This post was too good not to summarize, add my own 2 cents, and share with this audience!

Visions ✨

I can’t get ENOUGH of New Years, new plans, and new endeavors! I always get so excited and giddy this time of year 😆

I came across a journal prompt of where do you see yourself in 1, 5, and 10 yrs?

While I’m usually one of the BIGGEST planners and try to plan literally everything... but I forget to plan for flexibility, for what if things don’t work out or go as planned (cough cough the entire year of 2020 with the pandemic 🙃).

I began answering with the usual things I strive for ranging from different self improvement goals, fitness and nutrition goals, and pushing myself out of my comfort zone with pushing my business as far as I possibly could this year.

Then I went on to the 5 year goals and visions. I closed my eyes and visualized where I wanted to be and life looked sooo different, all the important people in my life today were still there, but I imagined myself living somewhere else for the first time in my life there were mountains in my background 😂 (coming from the girl who has literally never seen the mountains in person before aside from flying over them in an airplane ✈️ but that doesn’t count in my opinion 😂) Cody and I had a Colorado trip planned for May of 2020 and I am sure you can imagine how that trip fell through 🦠. In five years I’ll be 32, done with my DNP, and 6 years into the business I started working on in 2020.

Moving on to the ten years ahead being 37, I will have be in the same role as a DNP for 7 years... the longest I have ever been in any role, I’m only coming up on 4 years as a RN this year, and 7 years of total nursing experience with my LPN license from 2014. I found significant comfort knowing that I’ll be in the same field in a decade from know, following my passions, my goals and dreams...

..and that I need to slow down a little bit because the time is going to pass anyways...I need to learn how to enjoy the journey... that’s what life is all about... the little moments between huge milestones.

Where do you see yourself in 1,5, and 10 years? What do you have to do to get aligned because where you are today is an accumulation of your efforts the past five years.

Cheers my friend 🥂
