Marshall wins an elimination game 7-3 vs. Pequot Lakes last night to advance to the Section Championship Game tomorrow vs. Aitkin. Need to win two tomorrow.

Toppers lose in 5 innings to Aitkin 10-0 and will face the winner of Pequot Lakes & Proctor in an Elimination Game tonight at 7pm.

NEW: 12-year-old Xavier Taylor, who was hit in the neck with a baseball and placed on life support.

Right now, families across America are placing baseball bats outside their doors in honor of Xavier Taylor.

Xavier was warming up with his teammates before a youth baseball game in New Jersey.
According to his family, Xavier, a pitcher and shortstop who loves the game, was walking toward the dugout when a baseball thrown by another player struck him in the neck.
Within moments, everything changed.

His father says Xavier collapsed, went into cardiac arrest, and had to be airlifted to the hospital.

Today, days later, he remains unresponsive in the intensive care unit. Machines are helping keep him alive while his family waits, prays, and searches for signs that their little boy is still fighting his way back to them.

Over the weekend, hundreds of people gathered outside the hospital where Xavier is being treated. Teammates, friends, coaches, neighbors, and complete strangers stood together looking up toward the ICU windows.
Many wore shirts with Xavier's number 6.
And Xavier's father, Greg, shared an encouraging message;

"My son Xavier loves this game. He will play this game again."

Tonight, Xavier remains unresponsive. His family remains at his bedside.
And thousands of people are hoping, praying, and believing that somehow this 12-year-old boy who loves baseball so much will one day pick up a bat, take the field, and hear his name called
