What a delicious autumn we had.
We were able to enjoy warm sunny days in the leaves, welcome new animals, explore the change of season, notice the creek as it froze, covered ourselves in leaves and bundled up our noses.
We've learned together, laughed together and celebrated connection with our lovely world.

Lake Superior Zoo School was founded on a dream to inspire the healthy social-emotional, physical, creative and cognitive development of young children through close-up experiences with animals and nature.

Opening in the fall of 2020 this program has Grown Wildly (with Wonder, Integrity, Love and Diversity) and we are honored and delighted to be named the Best Childcare Facility through the Duluth News Tribune!!

We are enjoying a new year and a new season at Lake Superior Zoo School!
We have especially enjoyed the long awaited snow. Lots of sledding, snow experiments, snow art projects and snow angels.
We also are enjoying making observations of the places we play and learn.

We have had quite the full summer at Zoo School! It's hard to slow down when we are busy splashing rocks in the creek and hiking in the woods.
How special that Josh at at Pointed North Photography came to capture a typical summer day at Zoo School.

It takes a whole village to raise a child. It takes a team of fabulous teachers and volunteers to raise a wild crew of preschoolers!
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to the hardworking, dedicated and loving teachers that give our kids what they need.
Through patience and play, our teachers make Zoo School a wonderful place to learn and grow.

There are so many things to celebrate in the month of May!
At Zoo School, we support any social emotional needs that children have all year long.
Social Emotional skills help children from big feelings to engaging in play.

My what a difference a week makes!
Last week the snow hills were a delight for running & sledding. The helped us climb high in trees. We took off our mittens to use our chalk.

Now we are in only Oakis and exploring what was hiding under all the snow!

What a gorgeous day for fresh powder to play!
