This week our summer campers learned all about the human body and what a career in the medical field entails! We enjoyed a visit from Dr. Majid, a pediatric doctor from Inova Children's Hospital and completed the week with a tour of Stone Springs Hospital. Our future health care workers got to see tools the hospital uses to assess and treat patients, an ambulance, the helicopter pad and the behind the scenes generators used to keep hospital equipment working at all times.
We are so grateful to our neighbors across the street at Stone Springs Hospital for taking the time to show our campers how things work in a hospital! It helped to make us more comfortable in a hospital setting and will hopefully inspire some of our campers to pursue a future career in medicine!

Our summer campers explored the world of plants native to Virginia this week. Through nature walks around the school we learned how we can utilize native plants to meet important needs like food, shelter, medicine and tools. Our week ended with a visit from a Shenandoah naturalist who shared his amazing knowledge about the native plants he found surrounding our school with our campers.
