So proud of Eva Jaber, a KG graduate from MCDBC! Eva started taking piano lessons with Ms. Fredrick at our school in 2011 and has continued taking private lessons with her since then in piano and voice! We have had the privilege to watch her in multiple theater performances over the years and look forward to watching her continue to reach new heights at William and Mary as a Stamps 1693 Scholar!

Montessori of Chantilly was established in 2005, serving families in the Chantilly/South Riding community. Thank you to all our teachers for a wonderful school year! We had an amazing day on the water today to celebrate all their hard work!
"You are off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting! So . . . Get on your way!!!"(Dr. Seuss) We sent our Kindergarten students off in a beautiful graduation ceremony last Friday! But before they got their diplomas, they shared what they learned in yoga, Spanish, art, music and library with their parents and grandparents! It was such a special day!
Our Toddlers tend their garden box, reaping beets and carrots. This hands-on approach fosters an appreciation for wholesome food!
We love harvesting fresh herbs in our school gardens! Classroom 3 planted and harvested sage in their garden box. The students loved the soft, fuzzy leaves and earthy aromatic aroma! They made sage salt which was sent home with each student to enhance their family meals. It is so satisfying to grow our own plants and even more so when we can taste the delicious result!
Our KG Students made and sold "S'mores for a Cause" jars containing all the fixings for S'mores. They decided to donate the $600 proceeds to the Dulles South Food Pantry which helps food insecure members of our community. The students also handmade fleece blankets to donate to the Adler Center for Caring Hospice center in Stone Ridge. These projects help our students learn empathy, compassion and social responsibility while supporting the Dulles South community, where we live and learn.
Our KG students had a memorable morning at JK Community Farm, planting sweet potatoes and harvesting kale and cauliflower. The 150-acre farm practices regenerative, chemical-free agriculture, providing fresh produce to those in need within our community. 100% of the produce harvested goes directly to local food banks, including Loudoun Hunger Relief. The children loved the hands-on gardening, getting dirty and occasionally sampling the produce!
Toddlers and their parents enjoyed a beautiful day at Kidwell Farm - Frying Pan Park, meeting animals, taking a wagon ride, and having a picnic lunch.
We celebrated our 18th International Day! International Day is one of the most special days of the year at Montessori of Chantilly because we celebrate the diversity we see every day in our school and all across the world. We enjoyed learning and sharing about El Salvador, Bolivia, Morocco, Portugal and Laos this year.
Our presentation always ends with these words:
Light a candle for peace
Light a candle for love
Light a candle that shines
All away around the world❤️🌎❤️🌎
Light a candle for me
Light a candle for you
That our wish for world peace
Will one day come true 🌎❤️🌎❤️

What a wonderful Earth Day Celebration!
Have you ever wondered what happened to the trash once the trash truck hauls it away? Our KG students found out during our visit to the Loudoun County Solid Waste Management Facility as a part of our Earth Day studies. We watched a 40-ton tractor smash trash and learned all about how recycling reduces waste.
As Montessori children, our students celebrate their birthday by walking around the sun, deepening their understanding of the solar system, the universe and their place in it. On Monday, many of our students had the opportunity to witness and learn about a total solar eclipse!
Our Cafe Celso bake sale is underway! Stop by for a freshly baked treat and hot coffee served by our Kindergarten students! All donations go towards supporting our Compassion Child from The Phillipines named Celso.
Our KG students enjoyed a beautiful spring morning in Washington DC! After spotting the Washington Monument, we wandered the brick paths to the Enid Haupt Garden, a charming urban oasis. After descending three floors below ground, we realized we had just been standing on the roof of the Ripley Center, where we enjoyed a science show at the Discovery Theater.
We were happy to welcome back Author Ada Ari to share an interactive reading and cultural program in celebration of Black History Month!
Ms. Ada shared the re-telling of some of the most loved and shared African folktales in the form of her beautifully-illustrated children’s picture books.
Our students loved listening, interacting and dancing with Ms. Ada!

Today our students learned about Australia - a land that has been inhabited for many thousands of years by mystical, nature loving people, some of whom make and play a musical instrument called the didgeridoo - as seen here! The students had so much making music together!
Our KG students enjoyed a beautiful day at Blandy Farm - State Arboretum of Virginia! As student mammologists, they explored, observed and investigated on how mammals in Virginia survive their habitat and make it through seasonal cycles. Such a great day to be outdoors enjoying nature!

Our Story
Montessori of Chantilly, a Full Member School of the American Montessori Society, was founded by Ms. Deepa Simlot in 2005, serving families in the Chantilly/Centreville/South Riding community. In August of 2018, the school kicked off an exciting new chapter in their history with their relocation to a beautiful, newly constructed free-standing building right next to Stone Springs Hospital in Loudoun County. This move enabled the school to extend it’s reach to nearby Stone Ridge, Aldie, Willowsford and Brambleton neighborhoods.
The new school building features 10, 743 square feet of classrooms and both natural and traditional outdoor playground areas and on the 2.5 acre wooded lot. Classrooms feature child-size features such as cabinets, sinks, toilets, along with over sized windows for natural light and garden boxes for each classroom. Since 2005, over 650 students have been nurtured and educated inside our doors, building a strong sense of community among our current and past school families.
Montessori of Chantilly is an authentic Montessori preschool for children ages 20 months - 6 years old, featuring Montessori certified teachers in every mixed-age classroom. The Montessori Method of education, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, is a child-centered educational approach based on scientific observations of children from birth to adulthood. Dr. Montessori’s Method has been time tested, with over 100 years of success in diverse cultures throughout the world.
Dr. Montessori’s view of the child is one who is naturally eager for knowledge and capable of initiating learning in a supportive, thoughtfully prepared learning environment. It is an approach that values the human spirit and the development of the whole child—physical, social, emotional, cognitive.
Montessori of Chantilly offers students opportunities to develop their potential as they step out into the world as engaged, competent, responsible, and respectful citizens with an understanding and appreciation that learning is for life. Given the freedom and support to question, to probe deeply, and to make connections, our students become confident, enthusiastic, self-directed learners. They are able to think critically, work collaboratively, and act boldly—a skill set for the 21st century.
