July 24, 2026 Morning Beach Conditions
A YELLOW FLAG DAY with MODERATE rip current risk at all ocean beaches from Corolla, Duck to Ocracoke. Only experienced surf swimmers who know how to escape a rip current should enter the water. Never swim alone and always take floatation!
Strongest rip currents often occur a couple hours either side of low tide, which happens around 10 am today.
Expect cloudy skies today with showers and a chance of thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall. High temperatures in the low to mid 80s. Winds north of Oregon Inlet will be from the northeast around 10 mph. On Hatteras and Ocracoke islands south winds around 10 mph. Surf height around 2 to 4 feet. Water temperatures: Duck Pier...66.
