Meet this month’s Duhawk Dozen ✨
For Dr. Zachary Ney (’20), a visit to campus during high school sparked a journey that would lead him from Loras to optometry school in Houston and ultimately back home to northwest Iowa. Along the way, faculty mentors, fellow Duhawks, and hands-on experiences helped shape his path. Today, Zach serves his community as an optometrist at Sibley Eye Care and was recently named Best Optometrist in Northwest Iowa.
Congratulations, Zach! To hear more about his story: https://loras.edu/news/a-vision-for-care/

The academic year is coming to a close, which means its time to party! Great times at the end of the year chemistry party, time to be in community with each other and relax before finals.

Yesterday was the Loras Legacy Symposium where the whole campus takes time to share their creative, research, or experiential work. It is truly one of the best days you could be on campus. Our chemistry students got to share their research to faculty and students across campus.

On Wednesday, Loras College, Clarke University, and University of Dubuque got together for the 3rd annual TriCollege STEM Poster Symposium. Great time for students to get feedback from different faculty, see the other great science going on in the city, and a chance to hear from a recent Clarke alumni who is about to finish her Ph.D. at University of Iowa. We even gave out awards to some of the best presenters. Looking forward to doing this again.
