The End-of-the-Year banquet was held on June 7, with lots of blue sky and sunshine. Those who attended were treated to a summer barbecue with a parents/coaches/alumni vs current players soccer game...which the parents/coaches/alumni won, I believe (after borrowing a player or two), and lots of fun was had by all.

A big "thank you" to our coaches for a successful and fun season, to our players for making each game day something to look forward to, to our team managers for putting up with our smelly boys on the bus after games, and last but not least, to our parents for their support and interest in this team. Without all of these people, Hempstead Men's Soccer would not be 3-time City Champions and be a ranked team for most of this season.

The awards given out by the coaches show that every player on both teams is valuable and has something to offer. Congratulations to all Seniors and good luck on the future plans! And to the next-year Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores, bring home that City Championship once more...

A special note to our players who received recognition from the MVC and team awards...lots of hard work went into being honored with these awards, so congratulations, boys! You definitely earned them.

Banquet starts at 6 and eat at 6:15, then coaches will give awards and speech, etc, and then game...nice weather it sounds like...bring your lawn chair and come hungry!! Hi everyone -

It is hard to believe another season of men's soccer has come to an end. It turned out to be a successful season with several key wins and a 3rd City Championship title claimed...all great things considering a new head coach and new assistant coaches and lots of shuffling among players and positions...awesome job well done, guys!!

Uniform turn-in already happened for both teams. If you still have a uniform, please get that to Wanda at the Activities Office ASAP so you are not charged for a uniform.

Our awards and fun banquet is set for Tuesday, June 7 from 6-9:00 p.m. It will be held at the Hempstead turf field (rain will be in the cafeteria). The cost is $5 per person (cost includes coaches' gifts) and can be sent to Jane Rife at 16015 Majestic Dr., Dubuque IA 52002, dropped off at the Activities Office at Hempstead, or paid at the door.
Please bring a lawn chair per person for comfort.

Approximate schedule is looking like this:

Food served at 6:15 pm
Awards at 6:30 pm
Coaches/parent/alumni v players game 7:00 pm
Yes, bring shoes to run in

City Champions shirts will be available for pick up at the banquet. There are also a few extra for purchase, let me know if you did not order and are interested, I can let you know what is available.
