"Our dog, Bridgette, is a seizure alert dog and I have epilepsy."

Moments like this remind us why relatable stories are so vital for young learners. In our Kindhearted Kids: Meet the Challenge Program, every student group works alongside a shelter dog mascot with a unique background.

When this 4th grade student from Irving All Stars DCSD opened up about her own journey with epilepsy, it transformed the activity from a lesson on cooperation into an unforgettable moment of identity and connection.

Having true representation in the classroom shows every child that their lived experiences matter and that they belong. 💙🐕

The Kindhearted Kids in the South Tama County Community School District are already getting to work! In their very first lesson, they welcomed their new Two by Two pets and dove right into learning what it means to practice kindness every day.

From decorating pet carriers to giving big hugs, it’s safe to say these furry friends are already feeling very loved! 🐾❤️

Help us celebrate our growing team as we welcome Angie Malott to Two by Two!

Angie is a Dubuque native who graduated from UNI with a Master's in Elementary Education. While working in the Dubuque Community School District for the past 36 years, she witnessed firsthand the difference that character education makes in the classroom. Angie hopes to continue making an impact on the community's youth and is honored to be part of the Two by Two team.

Two by Two is beyond excited to welcome Shelly Dunne to our team of Educators!

Shelly is a retired elementary school teacher who dedicated 32 years to the Dubuque Community School District. She lives in Sherrill, Iowa, with her husband of 34 years. Together, they proudly raised two wonderful sons, Owen, 25, and Aidan, 24, and their family also includes three cats and four beloved granddogs.

During her teaching career, Shelly welcomed the Two by Two program into her fourth-grade classroom for several years and had the privilege of being involved with the program from its early beginnings. She is thrilled to return to Two by Two and excited to once again be part of a program that has always held a special place in her heart!
