🎡 Today marks the start of the Iowa State Fair, and Dubuque County 4-H will be well represented! 🍀

Throughout the fair, our members will be showing animals, exhibiting projects, and representing our county in several project areas and special events.

Congratulations to all of our State Fair participants! We are proud of you and wish you the best of luck! ❤️💛

Consider serving on the ISU Extension and Outreach Extension Council and help guide local programs that support youth development, agriculture, families, leadership, and community progress.

As a council member, you'll:
• Represent your community
• Help strengthen local educational and outreach efforts
• Provide valuable input on programs that serve people of all ages

We are currently seeking individuals to serve a four-year term (January 2027–December 2030).

Booth tear down and project pick-up will take place today from 12:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Please stop by during that time to collect your projects and exhibits. Thank you for a great fair!

🍀 Sunday at the Dubuque County Fair! 🍀

Today is the final day of the fair! As we wrap up another incredible week, we want to say thank you to all of our exhibitors, volunteers, judges, superintendents, sponsors, buyers, families, and fairgoers for helping make this year's Dubuque County Fair such a success.

We are so proud of all the hard work, dedication, and accomplishments of our 4-H and FFA youth throughout the week. Thank you for making this fair one to remember!

It's Rabbit Show Day! Join us as our 4-H and FFA exhibitors showcase the knowledge, care, and hard work they have put into their rabbit projects throughout the year.

We wish all of our rabbit exhibitors the best of luck in the show ring and hope everyone enjoys another great day at the fair!

A big thank you to our Board members who volunteered at the 4-H Food Stand Tuesday night! Their willingness to lend a hand helps support local 4-H programs and showcases the spirit of community service that makes Dubuque County such a great place. 🍀💚

🌟 Congratulations to our 2026 Dubuque County 4-H Hall of Fame Honoree, Bill Watters! 🌟

For Bill Watters, 4-H has truly been a lifelong commitment.

As a Dubuque County 4-H member with the English Mill Junior Farmers 4-H Club, Bill was actively involved in agriculture, swine, sheep, and horticulture projects. Along the way, he represented Dubuque County at Citizenship Washington Focus in 1963, was crowned the Dubuque County Fair King in 1964, and was one of the first Dubuque County 4-H’ers to earn a purple ribbon at the Iowa State Fair with a ladder safety presentation.

But Bill’s greatest legacy has been his dedication to giving back.

Over the years, he has served on the Dubuque County Extension Council, including more than 20 years as treasurer. He represented 4-H on the Dubuque County Fair Board for 40 years, supported the Dubuque County Livestock Committee through project training and county fair activities, served on the county swine committee, helped organize the Junior Heifer Lock-In, and even donated the grill and LP gas that helped establish the 4-H Food Stand.

In recognition of his dedication, Bill was named an Honorary 4-H Leader in 1986, and today we are proud to honor him as a 2026 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame inductee.

Thank you, Bill, for your decades of leadership, service, and unwavering commitment to helping generations of Dubuque County youth learn, grow, and thrive through 4-H. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor! 💚🍀

It's Livestock Auction Day! Join us as we celebrate the hard work and dedication of our 4-H and FFA exhibitors.

The auction begins at 9:00 a.m. with this order:
• Swine 🐷
• Meat Goats 🐐
• Sheep 🐑

The Beef Auction will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. 🐄
