🏅 Alex Ihrig and Elin Mueller tied for 1st with a 75 and earned runner-up honors after a scorecard tiebreaker.

👏 Connor Walsh and Ellie Heiar placed 6th with a 78.

“It’s crazy, I’m not going to lie,” he said. “But I’ve loved both sports since I was little and I just wanted to keep playing both of them for as long as I was able to.”

TH Athlete of the Week: Thole pulls double duty at Wahlert Charlie Thole could be seen running in every possible direction last week competing for both the Dubuque Wahlert soccer and baseball teams.

What a finish to an outstanding season!

After trailing 2-1 following doubles play, Wahlert battled back and was tied with Xavier 4-4 in the state championship match. After 4½ hours of competition, Xavier won a third-set tiebreaker to secure a 5-4 victory, leaving Wahlert as State Runner-Up.

So much to be proud of—our players and coaches showed incredible heart, determination, and resilience all season long. Congratulations on an unforgettable year. We’ll be back! 🎾💙💛

“It really doesn’t matter who we play, we just have to show up to the park every day and be us,” Wahlert coach Kory Tuescher said. “Last night was fun at Prairie, even with losing the first game in a walk-off. Now we come out and beat a really good Marquette team.”

“Very common theme, just being resilient and finding ways to overcome throughout most of the game,” Wahlert coach Sam Koenig said. “I think we were on the front foot creating chance after chance after chance, and we really limited their chances throughout the whole day.”
