We can't believe it's already Summer!🌞 Just as much as how we can't believe our seniors have graduated already!💜💛
We are so proud of all of our graduates and wish them the best for their future endeavors in life!
You will always be a DuHawk and will always have a spot in the Honors heart!
We thank them for all the hard work they have put into their projects and they leave knowing that they have done their best for their community, themselves and inspiring the underclassmen by showing them what it means to be Honor Students!
All of your hard work will be remembered and is appreciated by our community, show the world what it means to walk the path of an Honor Student!

Freshman Friday!!

Meet Natalie Bemer, she's from Williamsburg, Iowa, and she's majoring in Elementary Education while getting a minor in Psychology.

She decided to join the Honors Program because she wanted to be a part of a program of high-achieving students who look to improve the people and community around them!

In the Honors Program, she's looking forward to seeing the impact her project will have on the community.

Other things that she's involved in outside of Honors is being part of DuThon, DuBuddies, and the eDUcation club. She also spends her time volunteering at local schools!

They had a great and fun day at the Old Grotto and made sure the old Grotto looks FINE for the hot weather!

Stop by the old Grotto to relax under the sun or study with your friends. Thank these wonderful ladies for all their hard work!

Can't wait to see what the Old Grotto is going to look like when they're done with it.

Meet Hunter Jones! She's from Mechanicsville, IA., she's studying Creative Media and is part of the DuMedia Club, Cross Country, and Track & Field. She decided to join the Honors Program because of the opportunities available to her through the program and she's looking forward to applying what she learns in the future!

UMHC was a success! Thank you to everyone who made it go as smoothly as it did, and thank you to all the presenters and Honors Students from Loras and other schools who took their time to be at UMHC.

Meet Abby Pierce! She's from Streator, Illinois!

She's majoring in Kinesiology, and she's looking forward to seeing what her project will be and putting it into action.

Here we have another Great example of what groups do outside of class time!

Junior; Bethel Hailu, Chase Hefel, and Addison Brock are part of the group that works on "The Body Image and Mental Health on Athletes vs Non-Athletes."

Their group met up to discuss the data they got from the surveys they sent out to the Freshman last semester regarding body image. talk about the survey that they sent out to the freshmen regarding body image. They analyzed the data they got from the survey they made in the fall and compared it to the one they got in the spring!

Cheer them on as they continue to discuss their project and take it to the next level their senior year and as they get ready to present at Legacy for their Oral presentations!!

Last Week Professor Kolhaas met with the Freshman class to discuss UMHC and how to register for classes for next year😵‍💫. Although it was a little confusing with the help of many great questions we managed to understand everything! Everyone got their UMHC Pins! Hopefully, everyone is ready for it as the countdown begins!👏🥳🫶🫡

Meet D.J. Christensen!

She's majoring in Photography and is part of the Honors Program at Des Moines Area Community College. She will be representing her school at this year's Upper Midwest Honors Council (UMHC) hosted here at Loras College!🎉

She's going to be presenting on "The Real Life of Big Brothers Rodeo Clown". Please Welcome D.J. Christensen as a Representative and Presenter to this year's UMHC!

Meet Lori Silva, a senior majoring in Finance and Business and minoring in Wealth Management, she's part of the Loras College Honors Program! 🎉

Lori is dedicating her Honors Project to Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) her group reaches out to students, professors, and teachers to inform them about ACEs and Trauma Care. Lori said she joined Honors because she wanted to gain experience in a teamwork environment and to give back to the community.
