🇩🇴🏝️ today’s exploration by boat had us snorkeling through reefs off the tiniest island, Cayo arena, and seeing some beautiful fish and corals off the northern coast of the country! Then we made a pit stop in Puerto Plata, a beautiful city nestled on the coast with the mountains lining the city. 🐠 🪸 🤿 The natural beauty of the Dominican Republic is unmatched!

15 UD travelers are having a blast exploring all the wildlife the Galápagos Islands has to offer! Once arriving in Quito, their program started in the Yungilla community. For a service project, students tended the garden, some cleared a large tree (cut it down and cleared the wood), some made cheese, fried plantains, and labeled jams for sale. Service connects us to a greater purpose and our students got to see that magic happen through a UD - Ecuador lens. 🇪🇨🐢 now to more wildlife exploration! ⭐️

UD study abroad 🎶💃🏻 First full day in 🇩🇴 Dominican Republic was for the books! Started with a two hour tour (en español!) of the Zona Colonial… learning all about the history of Santo Domingo and Columbus from a new perspective. Everything we see is a product of past events, good and bad. The Dominican Republic today has risen out of all its trials, and there is so much pride in the people for their culture and resilience. Then we spent the afternoon visiting the Young Life Vida Joven chapter in the city to see today’s point of view. This ministry creates opportunity for positive youth programming! We supported a mural painting and enjoyed a fabulous time in fellowship and community. Next stop, Jarabacoa! ❤️
