We're not just a school, we're a community, and we're a family. ❤️

This week, a few of our Montessori parents showed up with their little ones in tow, to help make our playground even better.

Privacy fencing is being installed around the playground as part of our continued commitment to the safety and security of our students.

It takes a village to build a school community, and we’re so thankful for the families who give their time, talents, and energy to make our school such a wonderful place for children to grow.

Be sure to take a peek at the playground when you come for drop-off. We can't wait to see you when school starts!

Year of Our World 🌎

At Dubuque Montessori School, we celebrate a theme each year on a three year rotation. Year of the Arts, Year of Science and Year of our World. This year, we are going to concentrate on learning about our community, community helpers, biomes, connecting with nature, and much more!

We thought it would be a beautiful representation of our little DMS community if each child could plant a flower in our planter boxes to represent them and their family. Teachers will plant a flower too!

The planters will be all set up for welcome conferences. Just have your child choose a flower and the gloves and gardening tools will be there for them to use.

We can’t wait to see our community represented each and every day this fall!

Welcome Conferences

Hi DMS parents! By now, you should have received a welcome email from your child's teacher along with a sign-up link for welcome conferences. This conference is a great time to meet your child's teacher and share any important info about your child, turn in any paperwork needed, and bring the requested supplies before the first day of school.

We’re still here… we just don’t have our nametag on!

If you’ve driven by lately and noticed our sign is missing from the front of the building, don’t worry, we haven’t gone anywhere! You can still find us right here at the Red Barn.

McCullough Creative generously offered to give our sign a glow up over the summer. ❤️

We’re so grateful for their generosity and can’t wait to see our new-and-improved sign back where it belongs before school starts!

In the meantime, if you're looking for us, just keep an eye out for the Red Barn... you know, the one without it's nametag. 😉

❤️ Teacher Appreciation Week: The DMS Village Finale! ❤️

To wrap up this special week, we are spotlighting our Administrative and Support Team. It truly takes a village to make Dubuque Montessori thrive, and these individuals are the engine behind it all.

A heartfelt thank you to our leadership team, Beth Duccini (Director), Hannah Simpson (Assistant Director), and Charleen Shea (Administrative Assistant) for their dedication.

We also want to give a huge shoutout to the staff who support our students across the entire day: our wonderful "floater" Assistant Teacher Mrs. Lori, and our Extended Care staff, Miss Miriam and Miss Aili! Thank you for the care you provide during those vital transition times and extra hours.
