Get the facts on the tax impact of the proposed PPEL tax levy increase.

The current levy rate is 67 cents and the district seeks an additional 67 cents, bringing the total PPEL amount to $1.34 per $1,000 of assessed value.

Here are a few examples of the impact:

• For a home assessed at $100,000, the proposed additional 67 cents would increase estimated taxes by $26.15 annually
• For a home assessed at $250,000, the proposed additional 67 cents would increase estimated taxes by $67.14 annually
• For a home assessed at $350,000, the proposed additional 67 cents would increase estimated taxes by $93.99 annually

Today is the day! Tonight we have our Open House from 5-7PM to welcome our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and their families into the building. Student schedules can be accessed through Infinite Campus. Schedules are also printed so students and families can pick up a hard copy when they get to their student's Wahawk classroom.

There is a lot of information contained in this post and the links within it. This is an important time to get informed on the facts surrounding upcoming decisions. Our Washington community has been well represented throughout the process on both the internal and external tasks forces. If you can’t find information that you’re looking for, or you just want to engage further in the process please, attend one of the upcoming community input sessions listed.

The district’s community-driven planning process is focused on ensuring the long-term strength of the Dubuque Community School District.

Following months of learning, brainstorming, analysis, and discussion with both internal and external taskforce teams, the district is seeking community input on potential facility scenarios designed to address enrollment declines and financial challenges while maintaining strong educational opportunities for students.
