Yesterday morning was an emotional day for our Raider family as many received the devastating news of Erin Howardโs passing the night before.
Erin was one of our beloved lunch ladies until cancer treatments forced her to step away from work. Throughout her battle, she never gave up. She never quit. She remained optimistic. She fought until the very end. Her support system and personal cheerleaders stood beside her and believed with all their hearts that she was going to win the battle, and she has received her just reward.
Staff members wore pink to show their love and admiration for Erin and her relentless fight against cancer. It was a somber day, but colleagues and students praised her for being a faithful fighter. Despite her circumstances, Erin always had positive energy and a spirit filled with so much laughter.
We will all miss her dearly, but we are so thankful that our paths crossed. Please keep her husband, children, and entire family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the difficult days ahead. Rest in peace, Erin. Your work down here is done. ๐๐๏ธ๐๐
NUTRITION STAFF LOVE LETTERS TO ERIN:
๐ฉทDear Erin,
You were always smiling, playing, and keeping us laughing. When we hired you, I knew you were going to be a blessing to us all. You were a God fearing devout christian and thatโs how you lived. You were a hard worker, who never complained and loved the kids and they loved you. You had so many kids that you became attached to and them to you in your short time with us. One of our former students, Grady Howell loved you dearly. And so many more. You were an amazing mom to your babies and wife to your husband, Justin. I canโt say enough about how much we loved you. We werenโt just co-workers, we were family. And we fought along beside you through it all. You will dearly be missed by your lunchroom family, but we know God has gained one of the sweetest souls Iโve ever known. Love you, Karen
๐ฉทDear Erin,
Iโm writing to you with a broken heart. To be honest, I can hardly get my words out to tell you how much you have meant to me. Iโm not sure I have ever met anyone that could have made a larger impact in the people around them than you did. Because of crossing paths with you just a few short years ago, I gained so much. I met the absolute most kindest, humblest, God fearing young lady that I ever had the privilege of knowing. You had the smile that no matter what, put us in a better mood. You loved not just your beautiful little girls and family, but you showed so much love and compassion to all of our school kiddos. You were the strongest woman I have ever seen. Because of your never ending faith in your Heavenly Father and the love you gave to the people around you, you will be forever missed. ERIN HOWARDโฆ MY HERO. Love, Casey

๐ฉทDear Erin,
I am so happy I got to know you. I will always remember the grin you always showed on your face when you were up to something. Lol. ๐ฉทDear Erin,
Romans 8:38-39: Nothing "In all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." You truly believed these words to be true. You were Graceful, Courageous, Loving, Patient, Compassionate. Kind, and Lavished! You always had so much joy and love for each person you met, no matter what or how you felt. You put others first. You always had a sweet smile on your face. I have known you for over 20 years. We went to middle school and high school together. It was so wonderful to get to work with you. Love always, Lindsay Haynes
