When you show up for the community, the community shows up for you.

This week, Sheriff's Technician Stephanie Anderson and Investigations Lieutenant Luis Martinez from Dublin Police Services came to us. They toured our campus, met our team, and saw firsthand what 25 years of "bringing out the extraordinary in every child" looks like in practice.

This visit started with a Back-to-School shopping day where 10 of our families got to experience something simple and powerful: kids and officers, side by side, picking out baseball gloves and backpacks together. Then they asked to come see our school.

One of our team members said it best after handing out grocery gift cards to our families: "This was a wonderful experience."

This fall, 91 School of Imagination and Happy Talkers families received direct grocery support through Measure W. One parent told our team she'd never won anything before and was thrilled. A family of four shared how much it meant knowing they'd be able to put fresh food on the table.

That's what targeted community investment looks like when it actually reaches the families who need it.

This is what community looks like.

Last Tuesday, 10 School of Imagination and Happy Talkers families joined Dublin Police Services and Dick's Sporting Goods for the annual Shop with a Cop Back-to-School event. Each child was paired one-on-one with a Dublin Police officer and given the chance to pick out whatever they needed most heading into the new school year.

For the families we serve, access to experiences like this one is not always guaranteed. Officers who are patient, warm, and genuinely delighted to be there. A morning that feels festive and full. Kids who leave feeling seen. That is what Tuesday was.

This week, one of our SOI families quietly arranged a shaved ice celebration from Bachan Shaved Ice for our entire team — as a heartfelt thank-you as their child wraps up their journey with us. No big announcement. Just pure, genuine kindness.

This is what community looks like. And moments like this are exactly why we love what we do.
