Mission accomplished! πβ¨ Amogh crushed his goal by collecting 1,506 batteries to keep harmful waste out of our landfills! AA batteries made up a whopping 69% of the total collection. Because of your donations, this drive recovered over 55 pounds of reusable materials like steel, zinc, nickel, and lithium that will now be recycled into brand-new products. π±π
What started as curiosity with an RC car turned into a mission to protect our environment! π Grizzell sixth-grader Amogh M. discovered the dangers of battery waste and took action, launching a school-wide drive to keep harmful chemicals out of our landfills.
Amogh is hoping to collect 1,500+ batteries by May 18th. Drop off your AA, AAA, C, D, and 9V batteries at Grizzell Middle School before then!
Check our latest post to read more about Amogh's efforts! πβ¨https://www.dublinschools.net/departments/communications/dynamic-news/~board/other-news-no-alerts/post/grizzell-sixth-grader-leads-battery-recycling-drive
