The Running Raiders ran strong this morning at the Clash of the Classes in Bleckley Co. They placed 3rd out of 28 teams. We had several runners metal with 10 top finishes. 6th grade: Jacie Shepard 3rd, Ally Pangie 4th, Cora Moorman 6th, Thatcher Baldwin 4th and Bayne Joiner 5th. 7th grade: John Gordon Moore 10th. 8th grade: Maura Pangie 4th, Eleanor Baldwin 5th, and Jasper Saussy 3rd.

Boil Water Advisory Lifted; West Laurens Middle School to Resume Regular School Day Friday

Dublin, GA — The Laurens County School System is pleased to announce that the boil water advisory affecting West Laurens Middle School (WLMS) has been lifted.

As a result, West Laurens Middle School will return to a regular school day on Friday, August 21, 2026. Students and staff should report to school according to the normal Friday schedule.

We appreciate the patience, understanding, and cooperation of our students, families, and staff as we worked through the water issue and prioritized the health and safety of everyone at West Laurens Middle School.

We would also like to thank the City of Dublin and all personnel who worked to address the issue and restore safe water service.

We look forward to welcoming our WLMS students and staff back for a normal school day on Friday.

West Laurens Middle School
Good afternoon,

As many of you are aware, West Laurens Middle School (WLMS) is currently under an ongoing boil water advisory. Due to the ongoing boil water advisory, WLMS and all activities on the campus will remain closed on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

This decision is being made out of an abundance of caution as we work to ensure that all necessary health and safety requirements are met before students and staff return to campus.

All other schools in the Laurens County School System will move forward with their regularly scheduled school day and after-school activities.

We will provide an update regarding school operations for Friday, August 21, 2026, by 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we prioritize the health and safety of our students and staff at WLMS.

Due to circumstances out of our control with the water main, the game for today against Southeast Bulloch has been cancelled. I apologize for the inconvenience. We will send out a practice schedule for everything moving forward once we get more information. Thanks and go raiders!

Due to water main break on 257 there is no water at WLM. Therefore, there will be no school for staff and students today 8/19/26. School is expected to resume tomorrow. I will send an update later today. Stay tuned for football game status. We will let you know asap.

Dublin, GA — The Laurens County School System announces that West Laurens Middle School (WLMS) will be closed today, Wednesday, August 19, 2026, due to a water main break affecting the school.
The closure is necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff while the issue is addressed.
