Ugly Duckling Music is dedicated to the development of young musicians. We provide quality, handmade oboe reeds, private lessons, and high-quality oboe sales, rentals and consignments. The oboes that we rent are conservatory mechanism oboes that include the left hand F key and low Bb flat key. We have pre-owned Renard Fox oboes available for rental and purchase, we also have a more moderately pric
ed student oboe available as well. We are an authorized dealer for Fox products. In-person lessons are available as well as virtual lessons for students who live outside the geographic area or have transportation or schedule challenges. We also offer preschool music lessons. All oboe lessons are currently being taught by Kristi Kiene. Kristi's former teachers include John Mack, Nathan Hughes, Patricia Nott, and Patricia Barry. Kristi is a longtime participant of the John Mack Oboe Camp, and has played in many area ensembles including the Hilton Head Orchestra and the Savannah Philharmonic. She has been a private instructor in the Savannah Area for 22 years.
