We are excited to welcome Mr. Alexander Wereko to the Dublin Christian Academy family as he joins our Upper School science and math faculty on OPT. Mr. Wereko brings over 12 years of teaching and leadership experience from schools in his home country of Ghana, in Iraq, and in South Africa. He recently earned a Master of Education degree from Harvard University and holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Foundations of Education from the University of Cape Coast.
For over a decade, Mr Wereko taught science and mathematics to students from elementary through high school. He has also supervised teachers and led online education programs. We look forward to the perspective, care, and expertise Mr. Wereko will bring to our Upper School science and math programs. He will be teaching Earth Science, Algebra I, Chemistry, Physics, and Precalculus for the 2026-2027 school year.
Mr. Wereko has been actively involved in ministry, including youth ministry in Ghana and Kurdistan, and was active in the Christian community in Cambridge during his time at Harvard. He views a Christian education as a partnership with families to nurture students who are grounded in Biblical truth, pursue academic excellence, and demonstrate Christlike character. He is eager to integrate his faith into his science and math teaching, helping students discover their God-given gifts and equip them to serve others.
Additionally, Mr. Wereko is a talented volleyball player who captained his team in Ghana and coached his church's team in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. He looks forward to sharing his love of the sport with DCA students.
