At Pearlily Montessori Summer Camp 2026, children will enjoy six weeks of hands-on discovery through art, nature, animals, storytelling, gardening, building, and movement.

Our theme this year is Wonder in Bloom — a summer of curiosity, creativity, and growth.

Whether your family is already part of Pearlily or discovering Montessori for the first time, summer camp is a beautiful way to experience what makes Montessori different: purposeful activity, independence, creativity, and joyful growth.

🚀 Blast off! Our studies of Earth Science have led us to explore other worlds, in outer space! The children were thrilled to share and expand their knowledge about the Solar System, and to add a new planet each day in our Family Of The Sun song.

🌞The children are making amazing connections throughout our days: When children were asked to set the group a riddle before being dismissed from circle, one child gave these three clues: “1. I am white or yellow. 2. The sun is one of me! 3. There is a song about me twinkling! Who am I?”

❤️Compassion is the Virtue of the Month for March. Both Children’s Houses have read the Bible story The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37). The story tells of an injured man who was passed by several people, and finally helped by the least likely person of all, a perfect stranger.

🤲The children shared times that they helped others and showed compassion, including making a picture for a friend who was sad, helping their mom unload the dishwasher when she was sick, and even our food drive from December!

✨The Joy of the Explosion into Reading ✨

🐊Our Montessori language lesson, Becoming Familiar With Letters and Sounds Activity, bridges the gap between letters and the sounds they make, an essential first step in the journey toward reading. By matching physical objects to their sounds, children aren’t just learning phonics; they’re also sharpening their sensory and fine motor skills. This reading lesson builds cognitive development while making reading really fun!

🐧Another popular Montessori Language activity that captivated the children was the “Write Around the Room” work. The children had a clip board of bird names that they had to write down, such as a Canada Goose, Toucan, Woodpecker, Penguin, Flamingo, and Blue Jay.

🌈 Chasing Rainbows

🌤️What a week of weather! We had the perfect mix of days this week for our Science study: wind, rain, snow, sun, and clouds! Children have adored “weather projects,” including booklet- and poster-making. These projects help the children to grow in concentration as well as confidence and coordination. Several of them took most of the week to complete! The children worked hard to achieve their goals. 

☔️We learned about rainbows with the book Amazing Sights In the Sky: Rainbows, by Jane P. Gardner, learning that the rainbow always appears opposite the sun, and forms when light refracts through raindrops. Children were delighted to learn about double rainbows and moonbows, with some adding them to their projects and art this week. Their scientific minds are creative and flourishing!
