Hello Duarte Choir Family, My name is Shawn Taylor… I’m the new Vocal Music Director at DHS. I come to you with 35 years of experience and lots of energy and motivation! I also realize it is always difficult to transition from a beloved Director, such as Claire Hsu, to the “new guy!” Thank you to those who are currently trusting me and making this the great program that has been established. I hope many of you will return and join in the fun we will be having as we progress! Let’s keep this program strong!

Dear Duarte Family,
It is with sadness that I announce my departure from Duarte High School. Throughout my 14 years here, I have had the pleasure of teaching music and choir to young musicians for every school in Duarte Unified. Thank you to all of my friends, colleagues, staff, and parents in the Duarte Community who have always supported our choral program. I am so grateful for all of the wonderful experiences I have had, and for all that I have learned. A special thank you to my amazing students, past and present, who I will always think of as my kids. It has been the privilege of a lifetime being your teacher. ❤️
