What a great first day at DHS! Our students got to know their teachers through an abbreviated schedule, became familiar with the building, and wrapped up the day with team-building activities with their respective classes.

We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the school year! Can’t wait to see where this year takes us!

DHS Freshman Families (Class of 2030)

REMINDER: Du Quoin High School will be hosting freshmen students and their families tonight (August 4th) for Freshmen Orientation!

We are excited to welcome you and your student to the upcoming school year. Tonight's event will begin at 6:00 pm in Hibbs Auditorium.

This orientation is a great opportunity for your student to become familiar with the school, open their locker, find classrooms, meet some of their teachers, and learn more about what to expect in their first year as an Indian.

Additionally, we would like to remind you that all freshmen students are required to have a physical turned in before they can start school on August 12th.

We look forward to seeing you and your student at the orientation and are excited for the year ahead!

If you have not yet registered your student for the 2026–2027 school year, please do so as soon as possible.

Online Registration is quick and easy! Simply
log in to TeacherEase and click the Online Registration ribbon to complete the registration process.

Need to register in person?
We will be available this Thursday, July 30, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Du Quoin High School to assist with registration.

Incoming Freshmen: If you have already completed registration and turned in your physical, you DO NOT need to attend the in-person registration.

The wait is over for the 2026 Flashlight yearbook. Those that pre-ordered a book may pick them up Thursday and Friday July 30-31 from 9am-3pm in the high school lobby. Extra copies are for sale first come first serve for $65.

🏈 August Football Schedule 🏈

Our first official practice is Wednesday, August 5th at 3:25 PM. These practices are mandatory for all players.

We are still working to find a Week 1 freshman game. If we’re able to find an opponent, we’ll share the details as soon as they’re finalized.
