On Sunday, another one of our classmates was called back to Heaven. Jimmy Gelgot earned his wings and is now watching over us. Jimmy was always a very special, close friend to me. Not only were we friends since 1963, he was also my bother-in-law for 16 years and always an important part of my family.
Below is Jimmy’s class photo from our 1966 Janus yearbook, a recent picture of Jimmy with his goddaughter (my daughter) at her wedding, and his obituary. Rest in peace my dear friend and brother. Until we meet again…

We lost another spectacular member of our class—Lewis Fink! 😢
I met Lewis in 9th grade at Grebey Junior High School in 1962. Throughout his life, Lewis was a truly great person. I will miss him and his messages. We never know when we will be called back; Lewis made every day count and brought happiness to everyone in his life. Rest in peace, Lewis. Until we meet again. Thank you, Mark Frumkin, for the past & more recent photos of Lewis.❤️🙏🏻❤️

Heaven has recalled another of our classmates today. Natalie Sarge Fountaine was an Angel to everyone here on Earth and now has earned her heavenly wings. Natalie was beautiful in every way possible throughout her life. She always made everyone feel wanted and loved—something we should all strive to do. She was a true role model to all. Rest in peace our dear classmate and friend. You will be missed. ‘Til we are all together again…

Natalie Simone-Fountaine
February 15, 1948 ~ September 27, 2023
75 Years Old

With heavy hearts, we regretfully announce the passing of Natalie Simone-Fountaine, 75, of Alexandria, VA. She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles A. Fountaine, III, and her twin brother, Joseph Sarge, Jr. There are no services planned at this time, though a celebration of life will take place in the spring.

Natalie was born to Joseph Frank Sarge and Rita Simone on February 15, 1948, in Hazleton, PA. From an early age, she loved reading and writing and was an excellent student, and she graduated from Hazleton Area High School in 1966. She went on to receive a B.S. in Elementary Education with minors in English and Linguistics from Elizabethtown College in 1970. After working briefly as a third-grade teacher, she attended graduate school and earned her M.S. in Education and the Humanities from Temple University in 1974.

She dedicated her career to her passion for language and worked as a writer, editor, and producer of textbooks, reports, and educational materials. Her love of language was matched by her love of nature, and she could usually be found outside, whether it was running, gardening, or bird watching. She met Chuck in 1981, and they were inseparable ever after. They lived a vibrant and active life, traveling, sailing, and running, always together. As members of the local Porsche club, they visited racetracks across the East coast and formed deep friendships with many of the members.

When she retired in 2008, she and Chuck continued to spend their days gardening, running, and visiting bed and breakfasts across the area. They also appreciated and supported the performing arts and the preservation of historic structures and places. Her energy and zest for life were contagious, and friends and relatives looked forward to her one-of-a-kind cookies that she mailed out by the dozens every Christmas. She will be dearly missed.

If you’d like to honor Natalie’s memory, please consider a donation to the Parkinson’s Foundation (www.parkinson.org) in her name.

Today I received word that our beautiful classmate and friend, Edythe Topolski Roth, was called to her heavenly eternal rest this morning (9/25/23). For years she fought a fearsome battle to stay alive, however, she is a peace now, no longer in pain.

Edythe will always be remembered by her beautiful smile and the love and joy she brought to others. Rest in peace my dear friend...'til we meet again.
