While the world is asleep, operational excellence is still working.
It’s not just about maintaining a building, but about the people who bring dedication and positivity to every single shift.
Chad Dukes is the perfect example of what it means to truly care for our environment and each other. Chad’s recent recognition as the Division Colleague of the Year is a testament to the immense impact he continues to make here at HHS, where he has served for an incredible 17 years.
As a Project Tech, Chad's core focus is floor care, keeping our facility pristine and safe for patients, staff, and visitors. However, his work ethic extends far beyond his job description. Whether he is stepping in to support the wider EVS department or helping out with an unexpected facility need, Chad always prioritizes the right solution over the easiest one.
He remains a constant source of positivity, meeting every challenge with a smile and a helping hand for anyone who needs it. Chad doesn't just do his job; he elevates the entire team and makes our facility a brighter place for our community to receive care.
Thank you, Chad, for your dedication and for always lifting up those around you.

Ever wonder what actually happens after you click "apply"? 🔍
Resumes tell us where you've been, but they don't tell us who you are. Before our team ever sees your skills in action, our recruiters notice the details that set you apart: your confidence, your presentation, and the preparation you put into the conversation before we ever say hello.
If you want to truly stand out during the hiring process, focus heavily on the final few minutes of the conversation. Your questions matter just as much as your answers.
Coming prepared with deep, thoughtful questions about our team culture and operations—the ones that make an interviewer pause and lean in—leaves a far more lasting impression than a perfect resume.

The path to a fulfilling career isn't always a straight line. Sometimes, a background in retail management provides the exact foundation needed to excel in healthcare leadership. 🎓
When Sandy Mullins first explored higher ed after high school, she didn't find the right fit, so she pivoted into the workforce at Walmart. Years later, those sharp retail management skills became the perfect launchpad for her growth at Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, West Virginia. But balancing a demanding role as EVS Director didn't stop her from aiming even higher.
Sandy graduated from Southwest University with her Associate in Applied Science in Business Management for Healthcare, proving that it's never too late to invest in your own potential. ✨

Stepping into a beautiful resort lobby for the first time sets the entire tone for a guest’s stay. ✨ That immediate sense of luxury and comfort is no accident; it is the direct result of an invisible, highly coordinated effort behind the scenes.
Creating that flawless first impression requires complete synchronization between housekeeping, floor care, and guest services teams working together toward a single standard of excellence.
🤝 True hospitality relies on every detail being meticulously managed before the first guest arrives at the front desk. Every member of the team plays an indispensable role in building that unforgettable experience. 🌴

Advancements in facility management technology belong at the forefront of operations! 🛠️🤖
Integrating Peppermint Robotics' autonomous floor scrubbers into our workflow allows HHS to transform traditional cleaning tasks into highly skilled technical roles.
We aren't just deploying advanced machinery; we’re actively investing in our people. Through specialized training, our frontline crews transition from manual labor to operators managing intelligent, triple-tier safety systems (combining LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors, and cameras). Instead of pushing heavy equipment, they oversee an efficient, all-in-one scrubbing and drying process and track performance metrics via a centralized digital dashboard. 📊✨
Investing in sophisticated frontline technology ensures a safer, smarter, and far more reliable environment for our partners, all while upskilling the workforce of tomorrow.

For patients managing complex chronic conditions—like diabetes or cardiovascular disease—navigating daily food decisions can feel like an overwhelming burden.
Most of them make those decisions alone, without clinical guidance, and under real-time pressure. That’s where nutrition support that extends beyond the hospital stay actually changes outcomes.
Our clinical nutrition teams work with patients and families to build practical, weekly systems. Not rigid meal plans, but realistic frameworks that make the healthiest choice the most accessible one.
The result is less guesswork, better adherence to clinical recommendations, and fewer reasons to return. When healthcare organizations invest in sustainable food systems, the impact shows up in readmission rates, recovery timelines, and patient satisfaction scores.

Patient recovery demands more than a standard food tray. It requires targeted, clinical nutrition. 🏥
While National Women's Health Month officially wraps up in May, providing dedicated support for women's wellness is a 365-day priority for high-performing healthcare providers.
From maternal health to oncology care, tailoring dietary support to unique patient demographics directly impacts clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. ✨ Every meal served should align perfectly with a patient's long-term recovery plan—no matter what the calendar says. 🥦🥘
How is your facility approaching specialized clinical nutrition this year? Let's talk in the comments.

On the tarmac, there’s no such thing as a small mistake.
June is National Safety Month, and for our HHS Aviation teams, it's a reminder of what we already live every day. Strict protocols, specialized training, and the right gear aren't perks — they're the baseline.
Because the people doing this work deserve an environment that takes their safety as seriously as they do.
If you value precision and want to build a career somewhere that never compromises on safety, that's exactly the culture we've built. 🛡️

Investing in a leader’s growth is an investment in the entire organization. 🎓👏
Most companies say they invest in their people, but at HHS, we believe in empowering leaders who do the work to grow.
When EVS Director Marlin Vilius decided to pursue his master’s degree, he took on the financial commitment with student loans—but he didn’t have to walk the leadership path alone. Through the Southwest Partnership and intentional mentorship from senior leaders like Terrance Newsome and Wendell Singletary, Marlin found the guidance and strategic backing needed to advance his career from an Assistant Director in Orlando to a Director at Rutherford Regional Health System.
Reflecting on his journey, Marlin shares:
“My master’s degree has strengthened my ability to lead strategically while staying focused on daily operations and patient experience. It improved my skills in healthcare leadership, operational management, team development, financial stewardship, and data-driven decision-making.”
We are incredibly proud to celebrate Marlin’s dedication, work ethic, and the incredible value he brings to his team, our organization, and the patients we serve every day. 💙
