🎺🏆Congratulations to rising Dripping Springs High School sophomore and trumpet player Ethan Leone on earning Outstanding Performer honors at the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest!
This prestigious recognition is awarded to only a few hundred musicians each year from a field of more than 20,000 participants across Texas.🎶
Ethan becomes just the 16th DSHS musician to receive the honor since 1998 and only the fifth trumpet player in school history to achieve this distinction.👏

To the Dripping Springs Band Class of 2026:
Today, we watch you walk across that stage, and our hearts are so full. You came to us as freshmen — maybe a little nervous, maybe not yet knowing how much this band family would mean to you. And over these four years, you became leaders, mentors, and the heartbeat of this program. You showed up early, stayed late, gave your all on the field and in the stands, and made memories that will last a lifetime.
To the families who have walked alongside us — some of you for many, many years — thank you. Your service, your sacrifice, your laughter at every booster meeting, every overnight trip, every performance is woven into what this band is. You are this family just as much as your student is.
Class of 2026, wherever life takes you next — to college, to careers, to adventures we can’t yet imagine — carry the lessons of your band experience with you. The discipline. The teamwork. The joy of creating something bigger than yourself. The joy of celebrating each other. The satisfaction of completing the task at hand and doing it well.
We will miss you, but we know you are ready. Once a band family, always a band family. Congratulations, Class of 2026. YOU DID IT!!!

We have one more awesome senior to highlight. She's leaving a lasting mark on this program through her leadership, musicianship, and dedication. Our senior spotlight continues with one of the students who helped make this season in Color Guard unforgettable — Mac Culberson!
Post‑graduation plans: “After high school I plan on going to college to pursue a degree in Neuroscience and Immunology and later go into a career in Neurological Research. I’m also interested in potentially competing in DCl as a member of the Boston Crusaders Colorguard.”
What she felt being on the field for the first time: “The first performance I remember was an away football game where me and Madisann Muth went behind a prop to put down our flags and Madisann hit her face with her flag so the first thing I saw going behind the prop was her bloody nose. It was a 10 second transition so I just had to put my flag down and go on with the show. So, I was mainly just concerned for Madisann. 😅 ”
Last time on the field: “This season was an incredible way to conclude my experience in marching band. I love this team and community so much, along with all our achievements this has been an incredible way to end my senior year.”
What she’ll miss most: “Honestly everything—this community is remarkable and it’s something I’m going to miss so much after graduation.”
Advice for incoming freshmen: “It’s gonna be hard, all things in life worth doing will be, but once you get to the end you’ll know all the hard work was worth it.”
A special thanks: “I am grateful for everyone that helped me grow and supported me throughout high school, but most importantly I want to thank my parents for being there and showing up for it all, every late night rehearsal, game, and competition they were always there supporting me and cheering me on.”
Mac, thank you for the dedication and spirit you brought to this program. Good luck next year! The future is bright for you!

We are excited to highlight one of the students who helped shape this incredible season. Let’s give a round of applause for Jaspar Stetson!
Post‑graduation plans: “I plan to double major in history and education and maybe pursue either a career around politics or get a PhD in History.”
First time on the field he felt: “Scared but also exhilarated”
Last time on the field was “Complete and accomplished”
What he’ll miss most about Tiger Band: “The friends I made along the way.”
His advice for incoming freshmen: “Know your goals.”
He’d like to thank: “The directors for putting up with me for four years.”
We are so proud of you, Jaspar! Thank you for all you’ve done for Tiger Band. Best of luck as you begin this exciting new chapter!
