Happy 3rd Gotcha Day to Joy 🐾
Three years ago, Joy found her way to Appamada, and we really can’t imagine our school without her.
She has become a comfort, a friend, a quiet classroom companion, and a source of so much love for our students. Whether she’s making her rounds, finding the coziest spot in the room, or reminding us all how to be a little softer, Joy brings something special to our community every single day.
Her story started long before she came to us, and while we may never know all of it, we do know this: she is deeply loved here.
Happy gotcha day to our people dog, our school sidekick, and our Joy. 🤎

“This past year, we’ve witnessed a complete transformation…”
We hear this often, and it never stops feeling like a miracle.
Because going to school shouldn’t dim someone’s light. It should make it shine brighter.
At Appamada, students don’t just tolerate school, they love it. They look forward to seeing their friends. They feel trusted by their teachers. They choose classes that spark joy and curiosity.
It’s what happens when a school is built as a sanctuary.

Learning happens best when students feel safe, settled, and seen.

This is what learning looks like when relationships come first.
When students feel safe, seen, and trusted, they take risks. They ask questions. They try again. They grow.
Our teachers build learning through connection. Sitting beside students. Listening closely. Guiding with care. Trust is the foundation, and everything else is built from there.

It takes a village.
And we are so grateful for ours.
Learning here is shaped by many caring hands, curious minds, and shared moments. Parents, grandparents, educators, and students growing together.
This is community. This is learning in motion.

Middle school is a formative time.
At Appamada, we focus on creating a steady, supportive environment where students feel known and included. Where relationships matter, and where showing up as yourself isn’t just allowed, it’s welcomed.
It’s the kind of experience that stays with you.

Creative electives are a core part of life at Appamada.
Each semester, students help shape what they want to learn, and those ideas become real classes.
When students have a voice, learning feels meaningful.
