🐾Dripping Springs High School set another school record in 2026 with more than 250 students earning 286 industry-based certifications through the school’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs!

🛠️Certifications were earned across a variety of career pathways, including animal science, biotechnology, business, communications, computer science, engineering, floral design, health science, transportation and welding.

🎓These courses and credentials help students build strong career portfolios and earn higher wages. They also provide foundational knowledge and skills critical for future jobs, giving students a competitive edge.

Following the heartbreaking passing of a varsity football player from Lake Travis High School, the Dripping Springs HS Football game scheduled for Friday, August 28, against the Cavaliers has been canceled.

Our entire athletic department, coaching staff, administration, and student-athletes extend our deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers to the student’s family, friends, the team, and the entire Lake Travis community during this unimaginably difficult time.

The Tigers will open the 2026 season on Friday, September 4, at Tiger Stadium against Harlan.

⚾️Congratulations to Stephen Szkotak on being named the next DSHS Tiger Baseball Head Coach!

🐅A 2005 graduate of Dripping Springs High School, Szkotak has served as the Assistant Coach for Tiger Baseball for five years. During his tenure, he has helped lead the Tigers to four state playoff appearances and guided more than 30 players to collegiate baseball careers.

🏆As the program’s pitching coach, Szkotak was named the 2025 Region 8 Assistant Coach of the Year by the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA). That season, he helped lead the Tigers to their first district title as a 6A program, a then-school-record 29 wins and a berth in the state semifinals. The Tigers continued that success in 2026 with a second straight state semifinal appearance while setting school records for wins (32) and shutouts (13).

🐾During his playing career at DSHS, Szkotak was a First Team All-Centex and All-State selection as a pitcher and third baseman. He continued his playing career in college, earning all-conference honors four times while playing at Concordia University in Austin.

⭐Following college, Szkotak played professionally before transitioning to private and collegiate coaching. He began his career in public education in 2020 as an assistant coach, where he helped the Manor Mustangs to their highest win total in more than 20 seasons.

🏐 𝟲𝟬𝟬 𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗣

🎉Congratulations to Dripping Springs High School coach Michael Kane on earning his 600th win leading the Tiger Volleyball program!

🐅The Tigers opened the 2026 season earlier this week with three straight wins, with Kane clinching the milestone win Tuesday night in a 3-1 victory at home over Pflugerville Hendrickson.

🐾Kane became the school's winningest coach — in any sport — in August of 2022 with win No. 442. He is one of just three coaches in school history to eclipse 400 career wins.
