Those skills don’t come from always being given the next step.
They come from having opportunities to figure things out.
At Waypoint, students are put in situations where they have to make decisions, share their ideas, work with a team, solve real problems, and adjust when something doesn’t go according to plan.
Maybe the garden didn’t grow the way they expected. Their build failed. Their first business idea needs work. They missed the target. Or they have an idea and have to stand up in front of other people and explain it.
The goal isn’t to make everything easy.
It’s to give kids enough practice doing hard, unfamiliar things that “I don’t know how yet” starts to feel like something they can figure out.
That’s the kind of confidence we want our students to carry with them long after they leave Waypoint.
