Yes. . . they really launched watermelons. 🍉

During Waypoint Summer Camp, students took on an engineering challenge to design, build, test, and launch a working trebuchet. (And yes, launching watermelons was the grand finale.)

It was a blast, but it was also so much more than that.

Every Waypoint workshop is intentionally designed to build real-life skills. Students learn how to solve problems, think creatively, work as a team, test ideas, adapt when things don’t go as planned, and keep trying until they succeed.

Because when learning is hands-on, kids don’t just remember what they did, they remember what they learned.

“What’s with the yurt?”

Fair question.

At Waypoint, we spend so much of the day learning outdoors that we wanted our classrooms to feel like they belonged in the environment, too.

Our campus sits on 8 designated acres of beautiful Texas landscape, and the yurts allow students to stay connected to nature while still having a comfortable space for focused learning.

And yes… they’re climate controlled. ☀️❄️

That means air conditioning for the Texas heat and heat for those occasional winter freezes.

The yurt isn’t the destination, it’s simply one more way we’ve designed a campus that supports learning both inside and outside.
