A new two-story brick building is coming to the Salem campus — a full gymnasium, classrooms for grades 7–12, biology and chemistry labs, and band and orchestra rooms. The new building will sit just east of the existing school.

This week, it was our Draper 2 6th graders' chance to "Soar to New Heights" at their Character Development event. Through various workshops (and even a mini picnic!), they learned the importance of being genuine, how to hold a conversation with someone they just met, why it's important to be willing to try new things, how to set good goals, and how to make new friends. Our 6th graders learned so many leadership skills, and had a great time doing it!

This month’s junior high and high school Virtue Theme is “Humility: being willing to learn and grow”.

Two words were carved at the temple of Apollo at Delphi: “gnothi seauton” or “know thyself”. Before asking someone to be good, the Greeks asked someone to be honest about who they were. Only then could they learn and grow.

đź’ Humility does not mean to think less of yourself. It means to think accurately about yourself.
💭 It means being willing to admit, “I don’t know.”
đź’ It means being willing to take correction.
đź’ It means being willing to change your mind.

Our junior high and high school students are talking about humility this month. Ask your student what they are learning, and how they are practicing showing humility in their everyday lives!

This month’s elementary Builder Theme is Integrity!

🌟 Integrity means doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.
🌟 It means being honest, even when a lie might be easier to say.
🌟 It means having moral courage, even when you’re scared or nervous.

Our K-6th grade students are talking about integrity this month. Ask your student what they are learning, and how they are practicing showing integrity in their everyday lives!
