Dear Parents,

We had such a fun week of love and kindness this week.šŸ’• We have also been learning about the Presidentsā€™ Day holiday, which is on Monday. Have a happy break that day.

For this upcoming week we are looking forward to our field trip on Thursday. We will be going to the Museum of Natural Curiosity at Thanksgiving Point and will be back at school in time for lunch. Please make sure your child has turned in his/her permission form if he/she has not.

We will be reviewing concepts from Unit 4 of our Reading Street book and introducing Unit 4, Week 5. Unit 4 has been learning about ways to be ā€œOne of a Kind.ā€ We will continue in our enVision Math program by doing Topic 11: Using Operations to Solve Problems (2-step word problems). These lessons can be found on Canvas and are also assigned on Savvas Easy Bridge.

Dear Parents,

We had a great week this week, even though I was sick for half of it.šŸ™ The students and I are so excited for Valentine's on Monday. For Valentine's on Monday:

Decorate and bring some type of box or bag for Valentineā€™s cards (a bag will be provided to students who donā€™t have one)

Bring 19 Valentineā€™s cards and/or treats for friends in class (10 boys, 9 girls)

We will be doing Unit 4, Week 4 from our Reading Street book. With that, we will talk about how being unique sometimes means being first place or being the first to be able to do something. Perfect timing with the Winter Olympics going on. We will continue through Topic 10: Multiply by Multiples of 10. These lessons can be found on Canvas and are also assigned on Savvas Easy Bridge.

Dear Parents,

We had ā€œsnowā€ much fun this week celebrating our 100th Day and Groundhog Day. We are looking forward to this upcoming week. We are going to be talking about having unique interests, and one of those unique interests is collecting things as either a hobby or as a job. Students are welcome to bring something from one of their unique collections to show us for our morning meeting on Monday.

We will be doing Unit 4, Week 3 from our Reading Street book. Tuesday will be our math test for Topic 9: Fluently Add and Subtract Within 1,000. We will then move into Topic 10: Multiply by Multiples of 10. These lessons can be found on Canvas and are also assigned on Savvas Easy Bridge.

Dear Parents,

Happy Friday again!

January 2022 has been such a great month at school! We are really looking forward to February and all the fun that comes that month. Just a reminder, we will be celebrating our 100th Day of school on Monday. Please have students bring their brown paper bag with their 100 items for our morning meeting.

We will also be doing Unit 4, Week 2 from our Reading Street book. This will continue our learning of being unique, or one of a kind. Part of what we will be doing includes writing ways the Earth is a unique place to live. We will be continuing Topic 9: Fluently Add and Subtract Within 1,000 for math. Dear Parents,

Happy Friday!

We are in the process of rescheduling our field trip to Clark Planetarium. That field trip has now been postponed to a later date. We are still planning on our other field trip to The Museum of Natural Curiosity on February 24th. If you have agreed to chaperone, then please complete the volunteer application as soon as possible.

We will be doing Week 1 of Unit 4 in Reading Street. We will also be taking our Topic 8 math test on Monday. After that, we will start learning Topic 9: Fluently Add and Subtract Within 1,000. As usual, these lessons can be found on Canvas and are also assigned on Savvas Easy Bridge.

Dear Parents,

Happy Thanksgiving! The content for the week of November 29th-December 3rd will be posted to Canvas in the coming days and will also be available on Savvas Easy Bridge. We will be doing Unit 3, Week 2 of Reading Street and continuing to find the area of geometric shapes for math.

We will also be continuing our tradition of ā€œShare the Gift of Readingā€ (see below). I modeled reading a holiday story and will do another on Monday. I will also send an email reminder to you prior to your studentā€™s turn.

Dear Parents,

Happy Halloween! Thank you so much for all your donations and help for our party! It was so much fun! I hope everyone has a fun, safe weekend. We will have many fun learning activities coming up this week as well.

ELA (Literacy) and math content is posted to Canvas. We will be doing Unit 2, Week 4 for ELA and Topic 5 for math. Please see Canvas for what it is we will be learning next week.

We will have our first of six virtual learning Fridays on Friday, November 5th. Third Grade teachers will be holding ā€œOffice Hoursā€ on Fridays from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A link to Google Meet or Zoom for office hours will be sent to you on Friday morning at about 9:00 AM.

I will be sending the regular homework packet for students to work on. Lexia, Dreambox, and Typing Club are all available for you to use on our virtual learning Fridays too. Because of virtual Friday, we will also be taking our weekly spelling test on Thursday. The words are scr, spl, thr, squ, and str spelling patterns.

Dear Parents:

Thank you for all your support for the fun run this week! It was so much fun, even in the rain! Since next Thursday and Friday are fall break, I have combined next weekā€™s module on Canvas with the week after. The extra-large module reads: ā€œ03 Grade: Week of Oct 11-22.ā€ Learning tasks have also been assigned on Savvas Realize.

We will be taking our spelling test for this past week on Monday, so all papers for this past week will be brought home on Wednesday before fall break.
