A big help for preservation!
The Draper Historic Preservation Commission has hired Kirk Huffaker Preservation Strategies to conduct a Reconnaissance-Level Survey of structures in Draper to determine their eligibility for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.
Kirk Huffaker Preservation Strategies representatives will be surveying around the city starting this week and through the coming months to document structures. They should not be going onto private property, but may take pictures of structures from the street.
The last survey conducted in Draper was completed in 2001. With this new study, the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) will have an updated list of properties at least 50 years old that may be eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The HPC will use this information to contact property owners regarding the listing. It will also provide insight into which properties may qualify for grant opportunities for restoration or rehab work.
If you have any questions or concerns about this survey, please contact the Community Development Director's office at 801-576-6399.
